we missed jadeja bowling in second innings. he was the best bowler in first..

happened 4 times in test history.. 2 times in this century.

 

Funnily both the times in this century, losing team was australia.. their current bowling attack is probably better than those two ones but Paine isn't the brightest captain.. cummins is saving his behind most of the time. It will be bigger heist than Headingly 2019 if Indian team somehow pulls it off

Those teams had good batsmen. Ours is a depleted unit with two players injured in this test. we are already 2 down. Consider this possiblity. Saini at 7 Once one of the overnight batsmen falls, its basically game over for us with Vihari low on confidence and Ashwin at 6. We are not winning this. Just wake up and smell the coffee.

I know people are going to hit me with stats and call me as someone who lives in the past but that top order from 76 looks way more solid than our current top order. I wonder what they could have achieved with the current Indian bowling line up.

Of course, Sunny/Jimmy/Vishy all 3 were greats, had splendid achievements overseas.

Jimmy one of the highest peaks for a batsman, what he did against GOAT WI, even Sachin, Viv, Smith haven't come close

Vishy was basically VVS Laxman of that era

In Dec 2018, Kusal Mendis and Angelo Mathews batted 4 sessions in Wellington against Boult, Southee, Wagner, CdG, Patel (better test bowler than Santner) to secure a draw

 

Sure rain helped but they did spend a lot of time out in the middle when all hope was lost

Yes, just compare that "pace" bowling attack with today's , that "attack" spearhead by Madan Lal and sported by Jimmy Marnath and Solkar. Indian pace bowling has come very long way, from worst in the world to among the best. WHat was Madan Lal's pace, around Abbas's , 125-127 range at the most?

Watched only two overs of this test when India was batting. Wasn't aware of dropped catches. Wondering who dropped the catches given that Kohli wasn't fielding. I did see the run out of Smith which they showed atleast three times in a minute or two. Direct hits like that are indeed required to get quick runners like Smith run out.

I'm heart broken on Pant's dismissal . Would have been a great century and would loved to see Aussies panicking.
