Nikhil_cric
The Ash-Jaddu combination delivered 19 wickets at 23.73 in Australia and is one of the greatest performances for overseas spin bowlers in Australia. The impact of spin has not been brought up a lot but i feel our spinners have been so good that Australia had no real respite and could not really target them like they do to most spinners. Serpico
Yeah, even last time our spinners bowled very well. Getting openers cheaply helped put pressure on middle order with spin. The one time one of the openers were allowed to make a 50, smith made a 100 and took the match away sandeep 1 Link to comment
sandeep
Spinners need pressure to be effective - whether its because of turning conditions, scoreboard pressure, or wickets taken ahead of them by the new ball pacers. If there is no pressure, it is very hard for spinners to create pressure, especially if the conditions don't allow them to turn the ball enough to create a degree of difficulty for the batsmen. Now that Ash/Jaddu have the luxury of having a frontline new ball attack that is so awesome, they can, and will be effective almost anywhere. The fact that both can bat well, means there is absolutely no reason why India can't play them in away conditions 99% of the time - fitness permitting of course.
