    • Yes. 4 matches just isn't enough for India-Australia.
    • No. 4 matches is more than enough.

He'd obviously back this..  But 4 test match series are fine.  Ashes is obviously an exception.  5 match India Eng series is always an overkill since 2014.

England also plays 4 match series vs Saffers.

4 test series is ideal for a good test series between 2 big teams. 

 

5 tests means tired players and lesser intensity. Bowlers may hold back from the start of the series and bowl within themselves.

 

3 tests is too few.

I think 4 matches are enough. You basically ensure in a way you get 3 good tests even if 1 is washed out.

 

England probably makes sense with 5 tests given that rain can ruin a lot of tests.

specially on hard aussie ground which leads to many groin and hamstring injuries
