Riding on the highs of Aussie win, is India going to be eager to surrender its home advantage against Englanf by preparing pitches where our spinners will fail ?

There is news of grass to be left on pitch.But grass alone wont help England unless pitches are hard enough to generate extra pace and bounce.Take example of Rajkot pitch - despite grass it remains slower with low bounce due to softer nature.Archer is real danger no matter what pitch is like.Most likely there will be significant turn at least third day onwards.

They need moisture, lots of moisture - without that any grass is basically useless & will make the baking wicket a paradise to play on for at least the first 3 or even 4 days!

I just want a little bit of help for ashwin in the pitch. That should be enough with good performances from batting. Would like rahane and pujara to get a chance to mend their average, and also long time since we saw a kohli 100.

And we need Axar Patel to turn bowl away from batsmen. Ashwin Sundar Kuldeeps ( stock ball) is to turn the ball into the batsmen. So hope the TM chooses Axar instead of Sundar or else we will have 3 bowlers with same end output..

I also interested about the outfield. They maintain the grounds very aesthetically in england and australia, looks great on camera, especially the one in the day night tests was so beautiful as if the whole area surrounding the pitch was illuminated. I hope they put some good show in chennai and especially in the new ground at ahmedabad

yes particularly pacers will test more of the inside edge because of conditions, need a bit variety. we also never had great outswing bowler or a proper spinning leggie recently except chahal, whom i dont rate much.

I hope the pitch does not help spinners so much that Leach and Bess become threats.

 

Just moderate help for spinners is enough to make Ashwin dangerous ... while  keeping the English spinners ordinary.

Few years in history, if England win on the subcontinent they always call it win on subcontinental "dustbowls"....well if they are going to call our pitches dustbowls anyway, why care...why not dishout dustbowls.

Basically they got competitive again after central contracts were introduced. Gough and Harmison were probably some of the first products of the new system. Before that, English players were contracted by counties, and as a result performance in the national team was almost secondary to county cricket. Also, counties released players very late, leaving them no time to gel together as a time, conduct camps, etc. David Lloyd ('Bumble') has spoken in depth about these issues (he was manager in the late '90s, IIRC).
