Joking aside, the Myanmar generals just played the international community, Aang San never had decision making power, the generals ran the country. But feigning democracy the generals enriched themselves in last 10 years whilst sanctions were lifted, they had blockbuster GDP growth last 10 years. Tibarn Posted February 2, 2021 Posted February 2, 2021 (edited) The Military probably feels this was the opportune time to take over, on the backdrop of an election. As China grows in stature, and the world becomes bipolar, more countries will feel they can take these steps without fear of US retribution/interference. Some leader manages to mobilize masses, convince its dictators and takes country to polls. Off course he wins election and country gets a democratically elected leader. Next , allmost allways, some religious issue is created, and allmost everytime its Islamic religion which comes under threat. Be it Lybia, Syria,Myanmar, Pakistan, allmost everywhere , Islam gets prosecuted in some form ( any other religion, no one cares). Media houses like cnn, bbc, New York times, Times crying on top of their voices resulting in diplomatic pressure and some time sanctions on newly created democracy. So, a military leader takes over the country either directly or indirectly. So, to some extent, West needs to come in terms that in newly created democracy, Religious issues will come and they should independently let the local leader handle it. Islamic followers overturned even a military coup in Turkey. So lets stop worrying about what Islamic followers are saying, unless offcourse, we want whole world in anarchy, autocracy resulting in colored in Chinese red Edited February 2, 2021 by mishra
