Innings loss on cards?

Once the lead falls below 250 (currently 321), England will not enforce follow on. Innings defeat is still possible if India are all out by 310-320. Especially if Leach & Bess seem penetrative with the new ball (due in 6 overs).

The rate at which pitch deteriorates tomorrow will be absolutely vital in determining if there is an Innings defeat (or a big defeat in terms of runs). If pitch holds up nicely and India bat out 2 sessions (Ashwin & Washington will have to do it, others can't), India can entertain thoughts of a draw. Unfortunately, the likes of Rohit, Virat and Rahane have left it to Ashwin & Sundar to create another kutti story. Law of averages is also against India - to do it in 3 tests consecutively and draw/win from behind is difficult.
