Kohli's captaincy / team selection proves yet again - that Indian selectors are powerless wimps have always been so.

When was the last time Indian selectors had the balls to take a call against a "star" player/ captain ?

This is what makes our system pathetic compared to England and Australia.

Kohli got Kumble fired as coach, he has the final call in all selections - why even have selectors in that case ?

In England and Australia the captain does not have the power to hire and fire coaches and have the final call in the selection.

When will this rotten system of player power change ?  We have seen this with Sri Lanka and Pak cricket too.  It STINKS of 3rd world.

2011 world cup win changed a lot of things.

The Captain acquired the cult status and nothing could be done against him.

Before that Chief selectors were players with solid records like More, Vengsarkar and Amarnath who could at least put their foot down for what they believed was right.

Now we have MSK Prasad types who are nothing but pushovers for popular captains.

Unfortunately, although Ganguly is BCCI chief - he himself sucked as a player for about 2 years in test matches , where he was a pure walking wicket.

So he has no benchmark to peg Kohli  on.

He too treated John Wright as dirt ( as many India players have said ...John Wiright's opinions were summarily discarded by Ganguly)

With such precedents - we can't expect Ganguly to act.
