Also if you delve deep into those performances, apart from semi final in 2014 & knock against Aus in 2016, he relished chasing below par targets. He is a genius chaser in ODIs and plans those chases meticulously but T20 chase mantra has reached another level. You have to try n kill the game as early as possible. Similarly is the approach while setting a target. The demands have changed & if you indulge in these 50 plus scores without any impact, opposition is not too much worried about it. Both Rohit & Virat cannot be anchors. If Virat has decided he wants to deal in single-doubles then Rohit has to be more proactive.. told ya no one still plays field at death better then a set Kohli

Speaking of T20s, don't you rate Jadeja's batting in IPL 2020 and Aus tour? In IPL 2020, Jadeja- 232 runs, 46.4 avg, 172 SR Tewatia- 255 runs, 42.5 avg, 139 SR

He was the key lower middle order batsman for RR Jadeja did well too but many times “helped” himself to runs without “pushing” for wins, IMO

Win chance 95 perc. We should only lose if its a freak show and opponent scores too much. Example last t20 against Nz in 2019. Karthik couldnt hit a six and krunal pandya stranded other end ( no single taken). Win toss bat second bad wicket ( nz nagpur 2016) : Here we need something innovative like Narine in kkr. First 6 overs become crucial and anyways as it ll be lowscoring we need to go hard first 6 overs. Win chance 75 perc as we have depth Lose toss Lose toss bat first bad wicket: Achilles heel.If dew arrives we are murdered. Win chance against good team will be only 40-50 perc. Our whole strategy should circle around this. Example first t20 few days back. Its here we need real innovation. We need to do something about this. Loss toss bat first good wicket: Tricky against good teams but hopeful we can still pull it off. Example 240/3 against Windies. Rahul 95 kohli 75 odd. Last t20 against windies in india. Win chance 75 perc. Go slambang first 6 overs. as i mentioned. Scenario no 3 and see our win perc is exactly 40 perc. So predictable

I have already posted the stats above. BTW, is a knock of 77(59) chasing 240 not "pushing for a win". Or is a WC SF a lesser match than an IPL league stage match? Suhaan 1

Anyways, he played a match winning 44(23) in his last T20 match, in Australia against Starc, Hazelwood and Zampa. Coming to Tewatia, he had a great last IPL but that's just one season, not enough to displace a seasoned '3D' performer like Jadeja. Most people would agree.

Again we are speaking relatively and for T20s ... Tewatia at his best can be the more impactful option at #7 ... I am usually ahead of the curve so if you think most ppl disagree with Tewatia it is usually not a bad sign Edited March 16, 2021 by zen

If both are in good form, Jadeja can play at #8 (esp. if dew is not a big factor) ... the 11 is based on players at their respective best ... if Jadeja is playing better, I have no issues with him coming in as well
