Best playing XI --  batsman role

Hitman - Anchor/ Aggressor - alternate role with KL

KL - Anchor/ Aggressor - alternate role with Hitman

Ishan - 30(15)

Rat -Anchor

Pant - 30 ( 15)

Shreyas Iyer - Anchor

Jaddu - 30 ( 15)

Pandya - 30 (15)

Sundar - 30 ( 15)

Bhuvi

Bumrah

5 of the 9 batsmen above HAVE A ROLE to TARGET scoring at-least 30 runs at the end of 15 balls they face.

Assuming these 5 batsmen collectively manage to face 15*5  ( 75 balls ) ...

......and reach 75 % of their target on an average ...they would have contributed  112 runs ( 30*5*.75  = 112 runs ) from 75 balls

The other 4 batmen ( anchors ) - facing remaining 45 balls ( 120-75 ) ...even if they score 7.5 RPO by playing low risk and running aggressively would score ( 7.5/6 * 45  = 56 runs )

Collectively this way ..we can score at-least 112 + 56 = 168 runs in every innings...very very conservative.

More likely ..this will guarantee 180/190 runs/innings.

Also this is srsly think bowling. Jaddu aint a good t20 bowler that ur relying on him as main bowler. To win u need high class bowling, batting alone wnt help.

Also strange despite having such deep batting u still want 3-4 anchor.

Anchor means low risk shots / aggressive singles till the base target outlined above is met. After base target is met - they can go ballistic.

Jaddu averages 7 RPO in T20I and about 7.5 RPO in IPL.

Better to have that - than have lottery leg spinners - who can be very expensive.

Chahal lacks the class against aggressive batsmen who use their feet and can sweep well  ( and there are plenty )

 .... SDP at #8 w/ Iyer and Jadeja above him

The order can be shuffled ..depending on left hand right hand combo.. but the roles should be as outlined to ensure that we are round about the minimum target of 168-170.

A lot due to indian pitches when in many games even in t20 we made turners. In ipl dhini doesnt even bowl half the time

You can have one anchor, successful t20 sides have had them, that anchor must be capable of striking at 300 after facing 40 balls.Hitman can do it,peak kohli could do it,Iyer cant do it unless he is facing spin and hence must not find a spot if both Rohit and Kohli are playing

Designated anchor must be Kohli, Rohit plays freely from the get go and goes into anchor mode only if his opening partner and Kohli get out.If both Kohli and Rohit get out cheaply we trust some of the lower order hitters to have a beastly day thats it,a Shreyas scoring a 50 ball 60 is not going to help us anyway.

All good suggestions but we need to break down into 4 scenarios

Win toss

Win toss bat second good wicket: we will win with our firepower. Win chance 95 perc. We should only lose if its a freak show and opponent scores too much. Example last t20 against Nz in 2019. Karthik couldnt hit a six and krunal pandya stranded other end ( no single taken).

Win toss bat second bad wicket ( nz nagpur 2016) : Here we need something innovative like Narine in kkr. First 6 overs become crucial and anyways as it ll be lowscoring we need to go hard first 6 overs. Win chance 75 perc as we have depth

Lose toss

Lose toss bat first bad wicket: Achilles heel.If dew arrives we are murdered. Win chance against good team will be only 40-50 perc. Our whole strategy should circle around this. Example first t20 few days back. Its here we need real innovation. We need to do something about this.

Loss toss bat first good wicket: Tricky against good teams but hopeful we can still pull it off. Example 240/3 against Windies. Rahul 95 kohli 75 odd. Last t20 against windies in india. Win chance 75 perc. Go slambang first 6 overs.

Ishan Kishan - Pinch Hitting

Kl Rahul/Rohit- Controlled Hitter

Kohli - Anchor

Surya - Controlled Hitter

Pant - Pinch Hitter

Pandya - Pinch Hitter

Jaddu - Pinch Hitter

Sundar - Control in case of Collaps

Bhuvi

Bumrah

That 60 odd by Iyer will come back to bite us. He can't accelerate against quality pacers and doesn't have the all round game to be an anchor.

Also a t20 team needs just one Anchor, i  disagree with those who think that there's no need for an anchor, asia cup 2016, world cup 16 vs pak comes to my mind. There should be one player who can battle it out in tough conditions , an anchor is also needed when you have to chase a big score(but the anchor should be a Kohli level or Malan level anchor not Babar Azam)

Not a good team composition by OP

1. Need big hitter at 6

2. Need 6 bowling options

3. Can't have Hardik below 6

4. Kohli won't bat at 4

5. Option to play 3rd specialist pacer must be there.

Too many anchors.

Imagine an anchor at each end, while India is batting? India will barely be able to score 4 an over.

5 bowling options only, is risky. If one bowler is injured or has an off day, India will lose.

I think Jaddu is back and fit again, the lineup will be settled, he and Pandya gives great balance to the side along with Pant.

My preferred 11 for the T20WC21, based on current scenario so could change:

Kishan - expecting him to continue his good form

KL - can put in good #s in the IPL

Kohli/ Rohit - one consolidator

Samson - free flowing batsman, who can put in 4-5 good innings out of 10 ... or SKY per form

Pant

SDP

Tewatia - esp.  if he has a good IPL. Big hitter with clutch qualities. Will bowl leg spin too

Sundar - effective in PPs

X - bowler who can bring in some kind of  X factor through pace, mystery spin, ability to hit 6s, etc

Bumrah

Natrajan - left arm yorker specialist if in form (if not in form, he may miss hitting the right areas)
