That's by fervent hope. India as a society has to plan for things. We have the culture of dealing NOT planning.

UP Police and their stupidity. They should merely warn the person to follow the distancing rules. 

 

And the cylinders should NOT be in the hands of traders like this. They should be sold directly to hospitals from Companies. This fellow might be altruistic. But in this country there are shameless profiteers who want to earn out of this misery.

Our bigger problem is not even anticipating or living in denial. Living in mumbai atleast this is a bit of relief that the man knws third wave will also come . Now if he doesnt prepare or act on it he ll look like an idiot. Also its important to take public along with it. All this wud make no sense if in few week  1000 start roaming on juhu beach on sunday.

I know its industrial grade but so much more is needed for smelting right, I can't belive India had shortage of oxygen we are now equated to sub saharan Africa in terms of need for aid etc. Each Indian should look at this as a failure. 

There is no shortage of oxygen. Problem has been logistics, storage.

A relative of mine who is a doctor in California said that Moderna vaccine is being shipped to India.  I am finding nothing online about this.  Any insights?

 

 

Officially: The vaccines that would be eligible for the fast-track approval will include those that have been granted an EUA by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), European Medicines Agency (EMA), UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA) of Japan, or those that have been prequalified by the WHO for emergency use. This would mean that Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson and Johnson vaccines would be eligible for fast-track approval.

 

 

Under the fast-track approval process, the bridging studies will take place in parallel to mass vaccination. So far, clinical trials conducted in India were needed before the Indian regulator could approve the vaccine.

But before mass roll out of the vaccines that are developed and tested abroad can happen, the vaccines will be first given to 100 beneficiaries and these individuals will be assessed for seven days for safety outcomes.

 

 

 

Unofficially: it's possible some rich & influential people are getting their "best vaccine" shots.

India as a country itself is a vast mass gathering. No point enforcing social distancing. Complete lockdown OR Complete vaccination are the only options.

Social distancing is a myth in india and only possible if people sitting at home.

Even inside the homes, with limited space , it's like a mass gathering.

India has too many small traders who have learnt nothing except act as cog in supply chain for generations. They are the ones that are both a blessing and curse in oxygen distribution these days.

The biggest problem is our mindset that planning is futile.

No. It's not. If oxygen plant is in Rajasthan, you will need to transport it to Delhi. This doesn't come under center's domain. Center can only alott oxygen quota. Transportation is up to states. Will depend on how efficient their machinery is because center doesn't have any people or machinery on the ground.
