Pretty Good pace from Thampi. Consistently around 140 and trying lot of yorkers.

Looked better than Bumrah so far but we know that might change very fast

Why is Bumrah not being used as a wicket taker upfront ?

he doesn't really seem like much of a wicket taker in LOIs to me these days, and even in tests he blows hot and cold. worrying signs for a bowler whose (official) age is <30.

I think in tests Bumrah is generally good.

But the way he is being used in white ball cricket   OR the way he is choosing to use himself in white ball cricket,  is the biggest reason for his diminishing returns in the shorter formats.

He hardly bowls good length channel balls with the white ball ... just bowling defensive lines and lengths. Even Siraj has started to go this route with the white ball.

yes, I agree he is "generally good" in tests, but he does go missing in some important matches (e.g., WTC).

also agree he is bowling very defensively - not sure whether it is TM (whether it be Ind or MI) or his fault (or both)

Feel that our main bowlers like Bumrah and Siraj are displaying burn-out symptoms - lack of hunger, motivation, energy and consistency. Constant exposure to cricket, when not physically then mentally (ads, promotions, PR, etc.). Do they really find quality time to replenish their mojo? Don't think so.

I've also seen this belief that overwork = success. Many people believe that going to gym daily is in their best interest, when actually it is the other way round. Rest is ESSENTIAL. An athlete should sleep for at least 9 hours daily for muscles memory, anti-ageing and anti-stress benefits. Roger Federer used to sleep 12 hours every day when he was at his peak. People think someone is fat because he eats a lot, when the silent culprit is lack of adequate sleep. All these injuries that befall on our cricketers, I suspect they are mostly from overwork and inadequate rest.

9 hours. With my family life I will be lucky to get 7. Plus study and stuff ofocurse makes it hard.

Yes,very much related to psychology,

But here bowling attack of Mumbai is also weak compared to what they had before,Bumrah is seen off most of the times

He is breaching 150k a lot more times in this IPl...  And going beyond 153k means entering into Shoaib Lee territory.  @express bowling do u think his pace has increased from last year?

Umran is phenomenal with regards to Pace. hope he is trained better , i am not too happy with his Line n length. Coches simly say bowl between 2nd to 5th wicket and good length , yorker length and some time lil shorter than good length.

line n length are simple to tell but difficult to follow-

i hope he is able to maintain his line n length also a little more else he wont get to play for India easily.

even with his current line n length , he creates a lot of wicket taking opportunities.

a lil improvisation in his line n length can get him purple cap.
