1/13 in 4. Umran's line and length was perfect and even got some movement.

If umpire had not called the last ball of his first over as a no ball for the bumper, he could have had 1/8 in 4.

In 2012 -20160 period, Aaron, Umesh bowled similar pace Umran.

IMO Umesh was li'l slow...142-148 range...Aaron was 150+.
There was an ODI match against Srilanka...where both Umesh and Aaron opened the bowling. Aaron hit multple 150+ deliveries, while Umesh was hitting 147-148. Tharanga, Dilshan and Sanga had no clue .
Unfortunately Aaron got injured after 4.1 overs

We can genuinely consider him in home tests against one of the weaker sides where Ash Jaddu will do most of the damage anyway. It will be a good way to ease him into the rigors of the format while giving guys like Shami, Bumrah some much needed rest.

Problem is we have Australia next and we certainly want our regulars playing in those games.

for aussie series, i expect prasidh to be in straight away. he will kill guys like warner and co. barring smith who himself has trouble with accurate bouncers, rest can be taken apart quite easily be a guy like prasidh. i remember watching hazlewood owned smith in training.

In IPL 2012, Umesh had regularly hit around 150, fastest being 152. In 2012 Aus tour, Umesh was regularly threatening 150, fastest that I saw against SL was 152.5, still available on YouTube.

Bhogle and Gavaskar trying to make everyone believe no Indian before Umran Malik ever bowled quick.

seriously. this always makes me blow up. why? why do they like doing this ?

i understand sunil because in his times yes india had no pacers. but post 2000, we had plenty of fast bowlers. even in 90s we had srinath.

this makes me want to spit in their faces. i resent this servile attitude. *ing hell.

Doull mentioned that Bumrah has bowled 145 k+ at various stages of his career and he also mentioned Srinath.

But the 2 Indians failed to mention Umesh and Aaron.

I would love to see Prasidh play but Bumrah, Shami Siraj and Umesh all do have a case.

Prasidh's skills with the old ball is also something to be considered. The others are very skilled at it. With the new ball he will definitely add a new dimension with his wicked bounce.

That's the issue with our ex cricketers. Every countrymen hype even their 130kph bowler as some kind of speed demon.
Our experts, are ready to downplay our fast bowlers by saying "bit of pace" even if somene hits 145k.

No wonder, the whole world believes that we don't have FAST bowlers. When our own experts themselves don't hype our players and had to wait for a validation from the foreigners.

I think I remember Umesh hitting 150+ in the Australia test series 2012 as well. Aaron was faster than anyone in 2015 Australia test series.

Yeah....this ball I remember. Even Umesh in his Google Chat mentioned his fastest bowl at 152.5.
In 2012 series, yes, he bowled plenty of deliveries at 145+ and some at 150 as well...I think he hit in Perth when he took a 5-fer.
