khaleel is inconsistent, but also has a lot of potential. I think he and dayal can really evolve.

Kind of bounce Yash Dayal gets is amazing. He isn't even very tall like Alzarri, ngidi or Jansen

One more aspect with Khaleel is that he's a pretty poor fielder, and in T20's every run is important.

yes, his fielding is ordinary. have not seen enough of dayal's fielding. both can become v. good bowlers but are not yet there fully

I have been visualizing for quite some time how deadly Umran can become in Test matches.

 

If he can be so deadly on T20 pitches tailor-made for scoring at 10 runs an over ... on helpful test match decks or when the ball is reversing, he will be absolutely unplayable.

 

Our test match win percentage will go up.

 

He must be used in 4 short spells in a day, of 3 overs each, as of now. As he is not used to bowling 20 overs a day. As we play 5 bowlers, it should not be a problem.

Gavaskar was a legend, but he should simple stop now.
He don't watch domestics, has no knowledge of players outside of Mumbai/Maharashtra.
Commies like KP, Doull and Bishop has better knowledge of Indian players than him.

To use someone like him in short bursts, especially overseas we need a workhorse pace bowler for two reasons: (1) our spinners are not good enough for bowling long dry spells in SENA and (2) we will at most play only one spinner, which means one of the other 4 must be a workhorse. peak ishant for 3 yrs did that job quite well.

Umran is very accurate now  and he gets that little movement too on balls which are aimed at stumps .

Therse are the balls which buy a lot of lbws and bowled due to that slight movement which defeats the bat at such high pace.

 If he bowls in ENG with accuracy will he not get that little movement more often ? 

I personally feel in first half of English summer there should be some help from pitch. 

The stump hitting balls with that little movement , rising balls on or around off stump , a nasty bouncer and a few rib cage ticklers  - all these he will present to the team . 

Please get him into eleven for ENG test and ensure he bowls not more than 13-15 overs per day and note more than 25 per innings. 

BE BOLD and GO FOR HIM 100%.

Now you get a team with Bhumra, Siraj, Shami & Umran  . Do not worry too much about team balance and spin etc. Just build your team with these four bowlers first and pick others to get the best posiible combo for eng test.

2 among Siraj, Shardul and Shami can do the job of bowling those 8 extra overs.

for eng conditions, this is good, but for other parts of the world prasidh, tyagi, and kuldeep sen should also be in the mix

I don't want shardul because of his suspect fitness, although he has great temperament. wish we had a genuine fit swing bowler who could bat - like peak bhuvi for 2 yrs or so

Accurate seam bowling wih 140+ pace equally dangerous and we have 2-3 good guys who have shown what they can do in Tests.  .

I am not questioning our bowling stocks. I was talking about having at least one genuine no. 8 batter among the pacers, which we don't (apart from shardul, who has mediocre fitness)

I'm aligned with you, and I wish if we could have someone like Chris Woakes in our ranks who can just contribute with both bat and ball.
Hangargekar has some ability, let see if we can develop him. Nagarkoti also had batting ability in the past but he's fallen way behind the pecking order.
