That is a big plus. I think he will bowl quicker if he is confident of his spot in the playing 11 and gets some game time. Even with this action, he will cross 150 k if he bowls yorkers and fuller balls with confidence. Mosher 1

Just randomly placing the ball....not a single delivery hitting top of stumps like Mayank. That's where Mayank is special...he seems confident of his ability. Tyagi too seems lost just like Umran. From the field placements, I got the impression that Tyagi was told to bowl short. Mosher 1
singhvivek141 Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 Tyagi won't play next game now. GT will drop him 100% This IPL is over for him

Ball was just not coming right from his hand in this action. I want him to go back and bowl with this loading. This was just perfect. Bowled with same loading in UPTL and SMA trophy. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CwdZEvdBHrD/?igsh=MWpzcHBvbHJnbXdjMg== Edited May 10, 2024 by rkt.india

MediumPacer Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 His technique is all over the place ,equivalent of a big hitter who is swinging like a rusty gate ,not a smart fella .His coaches arent any good either ,same as mavi.
rkt.india Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 He will never succeed if he continues to change action. At 23, it is imperative that he maintains continuity in his bowling action. singhvivek141 and tapandrun 2
MediumPacer Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 Not a coincidence that all quick pacers are messed up in India.

Everything he does is to bowl faster than previously. But there needs to be a limit, you can't continue to change. You need to settle down and stick to one approach. Approach which already made you bowl 150k consistently need not have to do changed. tapandrun 1

In 1st over he was not far off getting into 150s, thought he would touch it next overs but pace was reduced and not 1 ball which looked like wkt taking ball. few good bumpers but nothing else, nothing special Edited May 10, 2024 by tapandrun

But at this pace he isnt in range of Mayank or Umran...that's a setback. agree with you...karthik's original action was super fast but now he is at least a bit accurate and has some control over his bowling. i guess the new action is BETTER in that case at least he is having some control now.
vishalvirsingh Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 he did well but yes he did not excel like Mayank but still some of his balls were literally unplayable Jaffa's. he may get another chance to play in next match and lets see how he performs.

He needs to stop doing experiments with his bowling. He was bowling so fast in SMA trophy. There was no need to change things again. I didn't like this change. Disappointing. could it be that he is not taking things either too much or too less seriously? seems to be trying things at random: don't know whether it because of taking it casually or because of desperation. neither is good

Old man bowling quick today. this old man (probably nearly 40 in actual age, and 36.5 in "official" age) still has some gas left in the tank... unless some floaty trundlers.
Kron Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 Well bowled overall tyagi despite getting hit. He is getting there. Pace is up. Bounce is there. express bowling 1

tapandrun Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 Dip in pace could be due to new action, takes time to build same pace after pace change. But need to settle on 1 action. Its okay to fix bits in the action but changing the entire action..... no good
Lone Wolf Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 (edited) Tyagi had such a watchable action... And used to generate serious pace from it. Doesn't look the same bowler anymore... Too much tinkering, too much feedback like in the case of Umran. Both are at the crossroads really. Edited May 11, 2024 by Lone Wolf
