Yes but the reason it skids is because it pitches fuller than a ball with no backspin/undercut.

I am sorry, I still didn't understand your point.

For ex...when I usually try to bowl legspin ..I primarly end up bowling googly. No matter how much I try, leg spin just doesn't work consistently (unless I release it with round arm angle then it goes straight across the righty).

But I learned how to bowl top spin as a variation. If I keep my palm straight to the batter durinh release, it overspins..lands at good length and then bounces little more than expected.

I tried bowling flipper as well watching Warne's spin video..but it rarely comes out well. But when it does, it skids and just don't bounce. As there I underspin it.

Overspin does bounce more because the ball dips sharper than expected and hits the pitch harder .  Undercutting the ball results in lift which results in the ball pitching fuller than expected and hence floatier and less bounce

Today was a wrong day to bowls it in the first spell.... but good to see Harshit trying to develop / has developed the quick, inswinging yorker.

Harshit is hitting the seam.. little inconsistent but I like the backspin he is putting on his deliveries & he snaps his wrists.

Needs to stop bowling slower ones with newer ball.. and look to bowl in channel.

Good speeds by Harshit.
Was Inconsistent in lengths and tried some slow balls when batters were playing n missing. The no ball changed his momentum. He missed his length on the fuller free hit and then was playing catch up.

Anyways time to forget and focus on the next one. Score was too small to defend. New day new spell.

Ashwini has bowled 133-141 kph.

Trying to bowl fast back of length deliveries instead of the generic floaty ones.

did not see him live. saw some of his wicket taking balls. Seems like batsman took him as a simple bowler like satyanarayana and attacked him and threw their wickets.

i will hold on before i can say anything about him.

ya..he was forced to bowl with Boult as Vaibhav Arora missed out due to Manish Pandey used as impact sub..

I felt that..Harshit was overtrying(probably pressure of low total needing early wkts too)..the pitch was very responsive in the start..he could have just bowled normally..could have got better results..part of learning process though..young Indian pace bowlers get excited seeing responsive pitches..will get mature..

Ya lets observe him more..pace can improve..saw 140k once but usually 130-135ks..however I noticed slight inward movement even at later stages for him..thats a good sign for a left hand pacer..need to see him more..good carry when he bent his back as well..
