And the land that will be sold off will have a whole bunch of fraud as well. Reminds me of the massive fraud found in the 'gas yojana' by the audit department, whose reporting simply wasn't covered by the "national" media in any serious form. Anyway, ultimately its a good decision long overdue - the military needs to get rid of a bunch of these ancillary operations, and focus on its core competencies.

Also I am sure most of these cows are old ,may be in 4-5 th lactation. Cows in India have negative value if they are not producing milk so I don't think there is any fraud in it. beetle 1

I have absolutely no clue about all this, but its a bit of a stretch to believe that all or most of the 25000 cows are 'old'. Still, lets hope the fraud is at a minimum - to an extent its factored into the operating cost, or in this case, unwinding cost.
