I have seen this umpteen times! Look, without getting verbose. Prabhudeva is obviously very good. Javed Jaffery and Remo to a lesser degree in the same style. Prabhudeva relies on flexibility and fast movements. Those dance forms are always *easier* to master than a slower dance form. You can become an expert break dancer or a bboyer even if you were to start at 14-15. You can't become a great kathak/ old school hip hop dancer if you start that late. Prabhudeva is more an improvisational learn on the way type of a dancer. But he is a one (dance) trick pony. Compare that to a Shahid Kapoor or a Hrithik, they have a lot more 'styles' in their repertoire.

There are several songs and movies with those.

They masquerade their inferior dance talent with show-off skills in what is called Bollywood dance! Believe me, there are dance schools in US that specifically specialize in the art form called Classical Bollywood dance Prabhudeva is a trained classical trained Bharatnatyam dancer raki05 1
Mariyam Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 (edited) ^ Shahid Kapoor was an 'advanced' instructor at Shiamak Dawar Institute of Performing Arts (SDIPA). He was instructing the batch that I was a part of before the release of his movie Vivaah! To be an 'advanced' instructor you need to have a fair few years of classical Indian/ Western or fusion training under the belt. Shahid Kapoor had 10+ years of Kathak training. That is what his name tag said. His mom Neelima Aziz is one the most famous exponents of Kathak in Mumbai/Bollywood. She was the Kathak go to person for Madhuri Dixit in her early Bollywood years before Saroj Khan 'stole' away Madhuri Dixit. And that has remained a reason for acrimony between the two till Saroj Khan passed away. Gossip aside, don't judge a dancer by what you see in a Bollywood movie. Obviously there are multiple retakes. Shahid Kapoor has been performing in college festivals for a long time. Almost a regular at Kaleidoscope. He also was a part of multiple SDIPA summer funks and I've seen him dance solo, from behind the stage. Definitely among the best that I've seen. There was a Shahid Kapoor vs Sivamani jugalbandi in one of these events. That was the talk of the town and got more traction than some of his earlier movies. Bosco and Caesar have choreographed many of Hrithik's memorable dance numbers too. Saroj Khan too. But we are comparing Hrithik the dancer vs Prabhudeva the dancer. Of course Prabhudeva has a rich body of work as a choreographer too/
