Indian batsman vs Indian bowlers- Whichplayer who wud have dominated or gotten better of other had they played against each other ?

Recommended Posts

Here are some of my picks

1. Zak vs ganguly - ganguly was a bunny of zak im domestic cricket.

2. Ganguly vs nadeem, murali kartik- slow left arm spin was ganguly's fav kind of bowling. Many say the reason he didnt back murali kartik enough coz he use to smash him a lot in nets and hence never rated him.

3. Kuldeep vs sachin n sehwag- what moeen ali did to him wud have been nothing to what those two wud have specially sehwag.

4. Zak vs sachin, sehwag, dhoni - zak also use to trouble these 3 in domestic but still it wud have been a battle unlike vs ganguly.

5. Sehwag vs bhajji - going by ashwin story infact thats also not need we knew how sehwag treated spinners.

6. Laxman vs bumrah - bumrah was the kind of bowler laxman wud have never liked.

7. Bumrah vs dravid - bumrah wud have had an edge on even dravid.

8. Bhuvi vs sachin - whatever lil bhuvi played against sachin he did trouble him and sud have even more im sure.

9 . Vijay shankar, dubey vs sachin - the kind of bowlers sachin hated most.

10. Yuvi vs axar, jaddu - in white ball cricket yuvraj at his peak wud have hit them really bad.

11. Irfan pathan vs rohit n sehwag - it wud have been in 2 rounds

- young pathan vs young rohit , sehwag - as both had serious issues with balll coming in irfan wud have had their number.

Decline irfan vs beast rohit , sehwag - they have treated him like trash

12. Zak vs dhawan  - zak at his peak against left hand batsman was just to good specially if their was a bit of chink in their game. Only way to fight then against him was like jayasuria n hayden , fight fire with fire.

13. Kohli vs sreesanth - wud have been the most ferocious battle. Sreesanth had the tools to trouble every and any top batsman of the world. But he also had a habbit of sledging something you should never do with kohli specially if you lack control in bolwing n in ur brain. In test match this wud have been battle of equals but in LOI kohli wud have hit him bad 9 out of 10 days.

.Zaheer Khan would have got the better of Sehwag and Rohit both.

Sehwag he use to in domestic , rohit im not sure. If ur thinking bout ball coming back in well that wasnt zak strong point. Rp , irfan , nehra were better at bringing ball back in to right handers.

Ashwin would have struggled vs Indian Fab four batting.

Disagree - would have been battles of equal.

Pant vs bhajji - pant has sehwag budhi , he will not think twice going agaisnt the turn even after getting beaten . With bhajji if if you attack him a lot he ll loose his plot very quickly. Pant also do hit a lot of unorthodox shots which is difficult to set a field for.

Sachin vs jaddu, bishen singh bedi, axar - sachin didnt enjoy left arm spinners much. Ray price , giles, panesar, vettori, paul harris, those Bangladesh spinner.....he wasnt at comfort against them . Even jaysuria dismissed him quite a few times

So bedi, jaddu, axar wud have troubled him specially on indian pitches

Chahal vs SRT Sehwag would have been very funny.  Chahal wouldn't have any collars left to chew & probably his career would end very early.

Bumrah vs SRT would be an awesome battle..  With two new balls & Batsman friendly era SRT would get better off him easily in ODI.  Not in early 2000's though with Bumrah reversing as well.

In Tests could go either way & it is Bumrah's strongest format.

Another iconic battle of that magnitude will be Cummins vs Dravid in Tests.   Relentless Cummins vs The Wall would be super duper awesome.  Dravid would not block everytime like Pujara as he has better timing & a powerful square cut & extremely wristy flicks.

When has Dravid survived vs a bowler of Cummins in bouncy wickets?

Don't recall him ever getting the better of steyn in tough conditions.

Peak Zaheer of 2007-10 sure. Not the other versions.

Ashwin would have struggled vs Indian Fab four batting.

Mendis' carrom ball did trouble us a lot in 2008 series. Nevertheless Viru is a different beast, not sure about the other 3 who had their issues against offies more often than one would expect from batsmen of their reputation, always felt they were much better against leggies. Murali didn't enjoy much success in India but he was mostly manhandled by Sidhu, Azhar, Viru. Offies like Saqlain, Swann, Lyon, heck even inferior ones like Arshad Khan, Udal had impressive and/or match-winning efforts against our greats.

Ashwin jaddu would trouble fab 2 but not Sehwag and Dravid imo. May be wrong about Dravid. I can see jaddu getting the better of Dravid. Sehwag would dispatch any spinner.

With drs in play? Perhaps an outside chance for ash and Jadds.

yea sehwag they wudnt have but dravid they wud.

Check out the tests.....

Rahul Dravid vs Curtly and courtney in west Indies

Although I agree with you that Rahul wasn't totally comfortable against great bowling lineups in difficult conditions but he could hang around. His records in Sa and Aus aren't great too.
