Though we all are blaming BJP they dont deserve the entire blame. British left a poor governance model for India that is a total failure. Some other model needs to come forward but IAS is clearly not working

What are your suggestions?

These young kids who have no idea how to solve a problem but are extremely talented in passing recall exams and a lust for power are not good for the country.

They need someone who has worked in the private industry for 20 years to run the bureaucracy.

You clearly haven’t worked with one, recently worked with them and even DC’s and DDs who are still growing are such smart people. I have no doubt on their abilities , intent ofcourse is another thing and anyones intent can be corrupted including someone from private industry with 20+ exp

One of the bad things about IAS is that after 10-15 years into service these people just become stagnant and are not up to the new age challenges which require modern methodologies.

One of the DC in my area had no idea how to use whatsapp. He wanted every complaint in written.

I wonder how much this thing is holding our police system back when whole world is using modern tech to stay ahead of crime.

Imagine a 50 year old IPS who knows nothing about modern surveillance systems. I know there are trainings etc for them but if someone is just not interested in them then nothing can be done about it.

Do you honestly believe someone who has cleared civil services and served for over 15yrs is so dumb that he doesnt know how to use whatsapp when 70+ yr old are the most active on whatsapp ? One thing i have learnt is they can be incredibly dumb or brilliant per their convenience. Best example Arvind Kejriwal. Written complaint is a requirement.

They need a paper record to keep track. I don’t think even in US, police complaints can’t be done over SMS. You have either give a written complaint or over the phone or online.

Sure needs reform. When ass clowns like Shah Faesal, Lipi Singh, Ranbir Sharma and that Tripura DM are part of babudom something is rotten within.

Well BJP has already started the reforms by introducing lateral entry. One thing that needs to change is there should be provision to terminate the officer if the incidents like slapping civilians happened. All that happens is they get transferred at best.

I have worked with a lot of them. They are excellent in recall exams, a skill clearly not needed this century. Problem solving is another story.

They should change the name from IAS. They are not into service but power grab.

BJP deserves full credit for this. Someone understands the problem. This is clearly a step in the right direction by BJP but is not enough.

They are not dumb but they are not smart enough to realize that they are the problem.

They are smart but they have slowed the country down.

It was sort of that previous DC was quite tech savvy. He was young, in early 30s. He used to resolve small issue from RWA using whatsapp only.

When he was replaced by this guy this thing stopped working. The whatsapp didn't work after.

Not saying they are dumb, but a lot of them are very rigid and don't change with the time.
