Just watch the climax scene when Jackie is watching Amir-Urmila reunite and there is a soulful music and then as he laughs and decides to move on, the ayi re ayi re tone picks up. It is goosebump worthy. Rangeela's background score is good, however it is the type of score that you would mainly listen to with the situation on screen (admire it while watching the film). I am not sure if many would listen to it in isolation in a car for e.g. I think you mentioned Bombay, which is not strictly Bollywood, where it has a nice piece of score during the riots sequences. But again these type of scores you would not generally listen to on their own I am attempting to distinguish b/w scores that a) work well with the film, and b) not only work well with the film, but also sound good in isolation as incredible pieces of music (Godfather's Apollonia theme for e.g. - PS Link) Quote People who grew up in the 80’s-90’s don’t realize AR Rehman changed the definition of sound. People were just blown away by that kind of music and sound when the movie came out A.R did innovate and brought in freshness. However, now such scores are relatively common, bringing the classics back. As they say for fashion, it runs in circles Edited July 23, 2021 by zen
zen Posted July 23, 2021 Author Posted July 23, 2021 I have not watched Shalimar recently, but it has a nice theme which is good to listen to: Mera Pyar Shalimar instrumental I think I should add this album to the OP in the notable section
zen Posted July 23, 2021 Author Posted July 23, 2021 (edited) R.D did a good theme for Shaan too: Edited July 23, 2021 by zen
zen Posted July 23, 2021 Author Posted July 23, 2021 Kalyanji Anandji and R.D were too good when it comes to scores/themes ... below RD lends his voice to the Burning Train:
zen Posted July 23, 2021 Author Posted July 23, 2021 (edited) "I am falling in love with a stranger" in Deewar ... R.D … Used in a segment where AB-Parveen meet for the first time and the shooting-escape that follows ... It is a good listen: Edited July 23, 2021 by zen
coffee_rules Posted July 25, 2021 Posted July 25, 2021 One of the effective title track, beyond its time
Autonomous Posted July 25, 2021 Posted July 25, 2021 I think bombay velvet's songs were pretty good. Normally Amit Trivedi's music is excellent
