has issues with googlies though. But I guess most have something.

even rohit has been troubled with googlies in past and not to forget a phase where left armers were bringing ball back into his pads

But Rohit does it more often even in tests where in 43 tests he is already moving up the ranks. Yes going from ball 1 I would put ABDV ahead, no doubt.

Rohit is conventional though. ABDV improvisation is next level.

Also strikers also includes four hitters too I guess.

you didn’t read the title of the thread I guess. Why would I look at strikearte on a thread discussing 6 hitters?

anyways as per your above post

Without a doubt he is the most consistent six hitter

Thread title

The biggest consistent strikers in the history of the game

What exactly are you arguing about again?

Where does it say six hitter?

Hitting one six and playing 5 dots doesn't really make you a Consistent Striker.

Misbah Ul haq has 81 sixes in 75 tests

which is more than Devilliers, Pietersen

Jayasuriya(even though they played more matches). That doesn't make him a bug hitter or a Consistent Striker. Bcoz he would eat up balls after hitting a six.

ok I thought the thread said big strikers.

if you count 4’s then Lara,Sachin,Ponting should also be considered

yes but when you put it into perspective of having most T20 100’s, 3 odi 200’s, highest scores in odis, individual record for highest 6’s in 2 formats, fastest T20I 100 etc it does make a lot more sense. I think at this point you are arguing for the sake of it.

how about you win. Let’s move on as this is exhausting.

how do u judge it ?? If i have to pickone who ticks all boxes it has to be ABDV

  • Consistent
  • high Pace
  • Spin
  • hard lengths where u can trap guys like pollard, pandya, russell
  • from ball 1 where someone like rohit fails
  • Range
  • Power

Who are the ones who you think qualifies as top 10 hitters?keeping all this in mind.

And Misbah has 18 more sixes than devilliers after playing 40 less tests.

He might be a great hitter according to you.

If you think Misbah and Rohit have the same value or legacy as destructive batsmen then suit yourself

Lol, you decide great strikers by the Stat which is actually made for analyzing the same thing called Strike rate.

So please, think this through before telling me that I am arguing for the sake of it.

And if you think that Rohit belongs amongst the likes of Devilliers, Dev, Richards, Sehwag in terms of consistent striking then suit yourself.

Even on this forum, posters criticise our top three for lack of intent. So I am not the only one disagreeing with you.

The players which I listed on first page have never been questioned for lack of Intent.

it says big strikers. Not highest strike rate.

big strikers I would assume are 6 hitters with a reputation. May be it’s news to you but pretty much everyone acknowledges Rohit’s 6 hitting ability.

now sure ABDV is a reasonable argument but once you start searching for Misbah ul Haq’s stats with an intention of proving a point, that is called clutching at straws.

anyway no results come out when one side has already has made up their mind. Now calling Rohit one of the finest and most consistent  6hitters and destructive bats of this generation wouldn’t sound far fetched if one follows cricket, making weak arguments does.

how much more proof of consistent striking ability does one need when a guy has 3 200’s and record for most 150+ scores with a lot of 6’s sprinkled in each innings with the various records I have already mentioned.

Dev and Richards were great for their generation and their legend increases due to how they were head and shoulders above their peers, that doesn’t guarantee they would translate that level of being over their peers in this generation.

sabke kuch na kuch problem the ABDV was one who kind of ticked all

very difficult to make top 10, illl name whom i liked watching

  1. yuvraj- if only he was consistent for longer part of his career, what a striker he was...one of the best i hve seen ever ever
  2. symonds
  3. cairns - at times the guy just amazed me
  4. Razzaq against pace , not good against slow bowling
  5. gilly - absolute butcher but his extreme high risk game meant the end also very soon a lot of times
  6. lara- when he was in mood
  7. afridi- if u find middle of his bat , unreal power
  8. livingstone- already become a massive fan of his
  9. Pietersen- genius on his days
  10. jayasuria n sehwag- if they get the attack to their liking , no end to misery
  11. gayle - a name ppl miss a lot

but they all had many downsides as well

Ok consistent means a guy who is hitting a lot of 6’s every game and we are not talking about a guy who has returns like 6(2) but a guy who is hitting a lot of 6’s in big knocks and creating world records. That huge strike rate is an add on you made to convince yourself. Now if that is a criteria then Russell,Afridi,Perera should be discussed and not others.

You have to pretend that there's only two options available either 6(2) or 36(33) just to defend Rohit. But we actually have players who can give 36(15) in cricket
