Archer but he is a 2 test man. None of their other bowlers can bowl with sustained pace and intensity like the Indians do. Bumrah can crank it up to 150 if he wants to. Have seen shami do it too. Siraj can touch 147 148. Umesh can touch 145 plus consistently if he needed to. This could be brutal indeed for the pommies.

Siraj is a 132- 142 bowler in tests who averages around 135 kph in tests. Touching 147koh doesn't matter. Bumrah has slowed down too. Umesh nowadays is a 135-145 bowler averaging around 137. Same goes for Shami and Bumrah
Adamant Posted October 11, 2021 Posted October 11, 2021 Wood isn't a test class bowler, Robinson is good but he would fail in Aussie conditions, Anderson again won't get any help apart from first few overs and the day night game. Broad will be destroyed. Overton is a bad selection too.

Jimmy has gone a little quicker these days as he showed it in India. Wood is nowhere near as skillfull as Bumrah but he has to use his extra pace against Smith. They don't have quality spinners.. Which India had & ultimately that was the difference. Lyon was outbowled by Ashwin & Jadeja & even Sundar did a decent job in Gabba.

All our bowlers can crank it up when needed. They can't. That's the difference. Besides, all our bowlers tend to bowl a heavy ball especially booms shami and siraj. All have nasty bouncers. They can bowl bouncers consistently on bouncy wickets too. Makes a huge difference. . There is a reason why everyone fears our bowling. There is a reason why the Indian pace attack is the best In the world.

They also know how to set up batsmen. Pace bowlers. Reason why ash and co were effective was due to the foot prints and pressure built up by our brilliant pacers.

Nope There were no footmarks on day 1 on a green MCG or even Adelaide where Ashwin bowl superbly. Our spinners were class apart. It was fabulous to watch Ashwin bowl vs Smith & Marnus. England don't have that luxury & that where they will struggle & even Nasser is surprised that they didn't pick Parkinson. We had a Trundler esque pace attack in Gabba win... I don't think England can win in Australia but they need to fluke a win there probably D/N test & end Australia's unbeaten run in D/N games. Woakes is a gun All rounder & will work nicely in D/N game. If they can get Stokes back I'll fancy them for Perth as well. I see England beating Australia in at least one test.

Yes I agree our attack is the best in the world but you were exaggerating their pace. They maintain 135- 145 pace with skills and that's enough.

Serpico Posted October 12, 2021 Posted October 12, 2021 It'll be interesting to see if England implements the "leg side theory" for smith. For the first time in his career, he has shown a weakness
Nikhil_cric Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 Our bowlers could atleast bowl 135 + average speed in certain spells. Even Nattu upper his pace in the final test and I remember him bowling a relatively pacy yorker to get a wicket. Ollie, Jimmy, Overton and Broad are all very accurate bowlers - among the best actually. But 3 of them are around 132 kph average speed and Overton is even slower than that. England have to be clever about this to have any chance to even compete and also hope that Australia are out of form- Warner, Smith etc. Otherwise its gonna be a bloodbath with a 5-0 scoreline against them, including a couple of innings losses.

What's funny is apparently smithy was out of form vs India. That's why we won according to paxtanis. Lmao. Smithy just brutally smashed us in odi. Scored centuries. He was in full form. Final form. We were just prepared for him and we record him. Still averaged 40. Not bad at all.
