I will take Jadeja over Pandya anyday. Much better option.

Jadeja is not an ideal T20 player when compared to the best in the business. Has been playing big tournaments for Ind since 2009.

SDP would walk into most teams including Aus, which has a great sports culture and love players like him.

Last match was a perfect situation when he could come one down. If he opened he was experienced enough to stop the collapse.

I think SKY will do well in coming matches.Kohli has to bat at number 3 after early wickets. He is the best batsman on the team and he has to stop the collpases.

Slowly began to hit well, winning MI a game v PK ... In this WC, helped Ind to reach 150 v Pak after Kohli and Jadeja sucked out momentum once Pant departed

11(8), with one being an edged four.

No. You have to strike a balance between runs scored and strikerate. Is a sr of 200 acceptable at the top if you only score 10 runs?

A pinch hitter striking at 200 at the top and averaging 20 would be excellent.

If someone is used as the sheet anchor opener, even then he should have a SR of atleast 130 while averaging 35+.

Dhawan's averages are not impressive either.

Last 1 year ..    Averages 24.4 at 111.0 SR

Last 2 years  .. Averages 28.8 at 113.8 SR

Last 3 years .. Averages 30.1 at 122.2 SR

That happens to be the highest SR for Ind in the game. No need to say, he came in to bat with only 12-13 balls to go and would attempt to hit every ball out of the park against an inform Pak attack.

Bro, 3(2) is also a 150 st rate innings but we don't hail a batsman for that.

Coming in to bat for last two three overs is his responsibility, look at what Asif Ali did.

The points being made are much deeper than what you are interpreting. I have no interest in spoon feeding.

As for Asif Ali, he did well but he hit out a relatively weak AFG bowler. SDP has played many such innings in T20s.

Exactly !

In the last 4 overs, teams try to score around 50 runs or more, when setting targets.

This means the needed SR is 200+ at the end.

A good innings in the last 4 overs must have batsmen striking at 200+.if they are setting a target. Plus some minimum runs are required too, like say 20+.

Asif Ali also "hit out" newzealand's attack, let's see how Pandya does against them provided the team actually considers him worthy of having a spot in playing eleven.

As for spoon feeding, You are calling 11(8) (with one edged four) a good innings, looks like  it's you who needs spoon feeding

Seriously how many matches has your Sir Don Pandya won for India? All we hear is how great a player he is which he hasn't  yet proved. We are still waiting for him to turn matches on his own then we will understand.

SDP has hit out many such attacks including being MoS in Aus. Hit 39 off 17 v Eng recently.

SDP has the highest SR of Ind in its history of matches won in T20s (177)

When some of the other batsmen are going at 13 off 13 and a when a batsman who has played over 40 balls struggling to hit, coming in with only a few balls to go to score 2 boundaries, along with getting an overthrow for 4, is an effort to take Ind past 150. The batsman coming in next, Bhuvi, did not even attempt to hit a 4 but merely took 1s and 2s. There was only one player in the death overs v Pak, who was attempting to take India over 160.

Many matches. In T20s, he has an avh of 24 and a SR of 177, the best in India's T20 history, in matches won for Ind.  Below are a few examples of his good performances:

  • 27 off 12 v SL
  • 31 off 18 v BD
  • 32 off 9  v IRE
  • 33 off 14 v ENG
  • 21 off 11  v NZ
  • 42 off 22 v AUS (MoS in Aus)
  • 39 off 17 v ENG

Also let's not forget the 3 wkts in 3 balls over v BD in 2016 T20 WC

Australia was fielding it's C grade attack,  tye, abbott, moises.

His performance in t20 series vs eng

19(21)

17(15)

11(8)

39(17)

Pathetic performance.

Yes, he is at his best when we are already in winning position, agree with you here.

The 'other' batsman was the reason India reached 150, your SDP didn't middle a single ball, if the other batsman didn't take any responsibility than we would have gotten out for 100.

So? ... Weren't you praising Asif Ali v AFG for scoring v Jannat. Even scored two 90s v Aus where Starc played

The other batsman sealed the game for Pak. With Ind having to rely on a magical inning to even get to 160 odd. Thanks to SDP at least Ind crossed 150. If he had come earlier, he could have smashed the spinners to take Ind to even 170+.

Talk about t20Is here, we don't take heed of his performances in tnpl and gokuldham premier league.

So basically just two good performances against  top class attacks.

Pehle 3 to lower sides hain, 42(22) against tye, moises, abbott,.

21 of 11 against nz's b class attack where their main bowlers like Boult, lockie, southee, milne weren't playing.

I know he is capable of way more, but it's just that he hasn't shown much at international level in t20is.

Yes, among the best for India in the opportunities that he had

Play someone like Kohli and Rohit in his role and they will not do half as much.

Thank you.

How do you know he is capable? I have not seen any such capability in him, he is very much in mould of Dhoni with limited short selection.  That is why Dhoni stunk as a t20 player. Yuvraj on other hand could play all around the wicket.

Teams know how to block Pandya very well. It is not by accident he rarely has SR over 200 while batting first. Problem is we don't have anyone else either.

I don't think he has achieved enough to have haters,  we stands for all of us who think he is overrated and overhyped without meaningful performances.

Yes, as I said, he is quite good at striking when we have already dominated the opposition and that too against mediocre bowling attacks.

In the same way that Pandya won't be able to do half as good as them if he opens the innings.

Both of them are ATG's in their role, Pandya is not even close.

Thank you.

No one cares for whatever that group is. Many even spam on twitter exposing Ind's half baked knowledge on stats and sports.

Random statement, when the guy has shown great performances in many formats including tests and odis

The guy actually has a test 100, which you may not know about.

Please do not quote me with meaningless babble.

The guy hasn't played a test since last three years lol, his test career is on life support.

Let's not even discuss the premier format when analysing players lik Pandya.

Good for him, one test hundred means squat.

Please use your brain next time before claiming that an 11(8) innings was the best innings from Indian side.

I can't control myself from quoting someone when I see such trash analysis.
