A quick match thread - Eng v SL. 

 

SL won the toss and will field. This is a positive for Eng, which is in SF, to be able to bat first to for the first time.

WI has won batting first. So has some of the other teams. AFG could have won if not for a bad over by Jannat, who bowled right in the slot. 

 

If Eng lose, it could be more of a case of getting a bad game out of the way, which is perfect before the knockouts (rather than in the knockouts if such an option exists).

Just one game out of all won by batting first. Bd lost by 3 runs. So 97 perc toss wins is match win. I m Not considering the non test playing nations like namibia scotland.

Even SA won against SL due to a couple of sixes in the last over by Miller , until that time SL looked favorites.

 

SL lost in the end but it was not a meek surrender like India against NZ.

Don't understand why SL keep selecting Lahiru Kumara.   He is the most expensive bowler in the world.   One of the worst ever.

At least 3 spinners needed in these conditions. Thats where pakistan is the best. 4 spinners in shadab imad shoaib hafeez. All 4 can bat.
