Also read that I have also said that he's a better test cricketer. He hasn't really set the world on fire with his batting in LOIs. Strike Rate of 120 in T20s. Nuff said.

He's an international Athlete representing country, not some Tennis ball league cricketer. Talking of Longer ropes? Why the same longer rope was not given to Sanju Samson? Why Ishan Kishan is dropped ? Why Chahal was dropped after a successful IPL? What has Shreyas Iyer done to be back in all formats? Please answere all these questions before giving gyaanchodi about Longer Ropes and all. Pant was dropped too. He cemented his place after the BG series(deservedly so). It's not been a long time since then. But he needs to do more in T20Is surely. Samsom was given his opportunity qbut the odds are against him. Pant is younger, more consistent in IPLs, plays tests and has a much better FC record. Ishan is still in the squad, will get his chances. Yes Chahal was unfairly dropped all of a sudden. I would have had him in the squad over Varun and Chahar. Jury is still out for Shreyas. His place isn't guaranteed at all. He has an excellent domestic record. Selectors felt he deserves a chance. kirkutfan 1
Mesky99 Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 Chahar brothers, shardul, harshal, axar, jadeja should not be playing international t20s imo, they are condition dependent bowlers who lack a wicket taking stock ball, they all lack ability in t20 cricket, Venkatesh iyer in two balls showed he has some ability and ex factor, axars success at Delhi is down to the great pace attack they posses, by the time he comes on 2-3 wickets would be down. I would rather have a genuine wicket taking left arm spinner in sai Kishore ahead of axar.

Austin 3:!6 Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 As I said in the match thread, apart from top 3 Rohit, Rahul and Kohli...most of our batting line up is poor. There are too many tulleybaaz in the team. They might look good in these bilateral matches against half strength oppositions but will be exposed again in Australia in 12 months time. We need to back proper players and give them a longer rope. I would immidiately bring the likes of Gill, Shaw and Jaiswal in the team and back them. They are proper batsman who will reap benefits in long turn. In an attempt to copy England's style of T20 cricket we are playing too many sloggers. Also, our white ball bowling is massive worry since Kul-Cha jodi is broken. Unlike in batting department, we dont have many options in bowling either. They all have the arrogance though like staring at a batsman after getting relentless phainta. On top of that fitness level of players are not good which suggests most of them treating it as govt job and not working hard enough. All in all there is not much to like about this present Indian side. We just have to wait for some good players to appear.

I think Surya and Pant are good talents and can perform well in Aus too. Apart from them I don't think guys like Shreyas Iyer, Venkatesh Iyer, Ruturaj are really international class but need to give them a proper run before discarding. Even Sharma said that there's one eye on the cup and they will be trying out combinations. kirkutfan 1

Look this wc was a lottery ,Aus were never favourites to win, they won crucial tosses, they had biggest of all so called "tullaybaaz" in Maxwell, they didn't drop him as he could roll his arm if needed and,Wade was never consistent for Australia, they persisted with him the punt came off They had good bowlers what had we?no proper planning was done strictly on t20s,we had shami(not a t20 bowler at all),Bhuvi(seriously out of form and not the same) If you load sides with Gill type players for an event in Aus where pitches will be absolutely flat then no point blaming these guys T20 mantra Have atleast 2 proper batsmen,3-4 high, SR batsman,1/2 bowling AR 5 wicket taking bowlers(in which 3 should be genuine fast) Ishan should be persisted with,Iyer is too raw dont rate him good/bad ao soon, atleast has the intent

Hes unfit, he gaining weight by the day. If that doesn't reflect poor attitude as a professional athlete, then I don't know what does. He's getting consistent run over Kishan & Samson, without any accountability towards performances. mishra 1

It has much to do with genetics,im sure he does have regular gym sessions like others Pant is getting consistent run because of a stellar past IPLs and his test exploits too did a part in him getting a longer rope as TM doesn't bother to play completely different teams for different formats Yes he is not a certainity in LOI side, but doesn't seems like he is taking things for granted Kishan i like him,he has that game to succeed in t20s ,he should be played irrespective of what Pant is doing with the bat,if Pant doesn't performs get someone else Edited November 18, 2021 by Suhaan
mishra Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 (edited) Put any batsman in top 3 and his S/R and average will improve. So effectively we need to put the bats in right categories else comparison is incorrect. As far as bowlers are concerned, We need more bowlers and manage them well and rotate. We should know what our best 11 and best 15 are for ICC tournaments. So if Bhuvi wins us a game against Newzealand in a bilateral so why waste Bhumrah. Hope our management can plan well Edited November 18, 2021 by mishra
