Shreyas Iyer.. never liked his hitting skills off the pacers.. very limited player, Samad or Samson would be better suited in his place ..

Next WC is in Australia so Bhuvi and chahar should be must der unless we find better new ball bowler who can swing both ways

Too much chopping and changing won't help. You have to keep faith in talented young players like Pant. 

 

If guys like Southee, Zampa, Wade, Stoinis played for India, fans would be calling for their heads sooner than later. Aus and NZ reached the final backing the same players. And we discarded successful International players like Ashwin and Chahal.

I used to be a fan of Shreyas Iyer ,couple of years ago.  Not any more.   He has regressed a lot, it seems.   Should not be anywhere near the team.

Persist with Pant ? Guy can't keep his weight under check. He's an international Athlete representing country, not some Tennis ball league cricketer. Talking of Longer ropes? Why the same longer rope was not given to Sanju Samson? Why Ishan Kishan is dropped ? Why Chahal was dropped after a successful IPL? What has Shreyas Iyer done to be back in all formats? Please answere all these questions before giving gyaanchodi about Longer Ropes and all.

I think they should identify player for those position from domestic and don't force youngster like Venky iyer for finishing role. Shreyas Iyer, Bhuvi, Chahar should be strictly no no. Give chance to players like Abhishek Sharma, samad for those lower order or identify someone from domestic.

Wasn't aware of that. As I don't watch much Ipl.   But I was expecting Dravid to pick players on current form and not past reputation.

Shreyas Iyer hasn’t been given a consistent run. He does well in one series and TM say they found solution for no.4, flops the next series he is on bench.  
 

I think he should be given one good run and then the call should be taken. He does have some good skills.

 

Chahar if he takes him game to one notch higher, he will fix a lot of issues. He can swing the ball up front and can bat with proper technique and batting temperament. Always intense and gives a 100%. We can’t complain about not having multidimensional cricketers and then when we get one with some upside, dump him. Jeez everyone on ICF wants a 200 SR, 40 avg player who can bowl 150+ . Temper your expectations people.

 

Bhuvi: I was on the throw him out bandwagon long before anyone and got multiple troll votes for the same reason.

 

Apart from that this is a decent set of guys. Need a couple of 150+ bowlers. Add Umran to the mix, monitor Pandya’s form and fitness, get Bumrah back and even consider playing Virat as a floater kind of like Steve Smith and this will become a world beating side

S Iyer also bats in Rohit-Kohli mode. thats too much for T20. I like him in ODIs

Yes. very good in resurrection roles. In T20 he often doesn't have resurrection situations. Quiet often you just have to swing from the hips from the get go as a late order batsman.
