Lack of Leggies in the squad

Despite it was clearly evident leggies/wristies  completely dominated the world T20 among spinners we don't have anyone playing for us. That too in Indian conditions.

Need Ravi Bishnoi.

Its because all our top order are muppets with ball and cant bowl a single over. We are forced to play Jadeja as an a/r it for that matter axar today. So the no 7 position becomes vital. If pandya could have bowled we could have gone with 3 spinners in axar/ jadeja + ashwin + chahal/ bishnoi/chahar. And 2 pacers plus pandya with 2 overs. Basically hedging both ways depending on bowling first or second and type of pitch. Thats why the 2016 and 2014 squad was far superior where we had yuvraj who could bowl and giving us balance and pandya doing same. India had to stoop so low for these batsmen who could bowl that kedar jadhav got a free ride till 2020 nz series just because he could bowl two overs if required..

Need gun MO bats. Where they? Probably need to manufacture from current crop of Ishan. Left Iyer , KL, SKY, look beyond Kadeja, Pandya type all rounder hacks of bats

Better not to pick Chahal for these bilaterals. Was very poor in SMAT 2021, 5 matches, 1 wickets for 148 runs.

 

Rahul Chahar is in SA for the A tour, Bishnoi is still developing.

 

The more experienced leggies Shreyas Gopal and Mayank Markande for some reason have gone out of selectors radar. Still performing well in domestic cricket. May not be a bad idea to try them out at some stage.

KLR is the only good batsman there and he bats top order. Don't think he will give it up now. Now rest is hit and miss and won't necessarily be better than Pandya/Jadeja just with the bat. This is why Kishan, SKY have not been tried there at no.6 to no.7 positions. Ishan kind of flopped in middle order this IPL.

 

Venky is new so we will see how he develops.

May  be we should persist with chahal. He did well in ipl and has some international experience, with 11 months to go this is the best option. Don't think anybody else is looking good for now, may be ravi/chahar as backup
