Three of the elite players of this generation, not much seperating them, successful in all formats.

Joe Root has 9000+ test runs while David Warner and Kane Williamson has 7500 runs.

Warner has been player of tournament in WT20 2021 and was brilliant in 2019 World Cup.

Williamson was player of tournament in 2019 World Cup and led his team to a WTC win with a leading performance in WTC Final with bat.

Joe Root has the best test all-round performance among the three and was leading run scorer for England while winning the 2019 World Cup.

Who has created a bigger legacy among all three?

David Warner. Winner of a T20 WC and a 50 over WC. Pinnacle of any sportsperson playing cricket!

Test cricket is the ultimate formula. Root it is.

That guy has yet to win a test in Oz, has a poor record there, not to mention has lost probably 2x as many tests as Warner! What legacy are you talking about?

And Kane won in Australia?

Warner? What did he achieve in India or England? Great player no doubt but resume is lacking.

Warner did nothing when Aus won 2015 WC. He failed in all games in that tournament except the one vs Afghanistan.

Still a WC winner. Has also won IPL.

Didn't root lead England to a T20 WC win as well?

He was about to but then a giant shouted on him, "Remember the name" post which he got dropped from their T20 team.

Although Willy (Williamson) is technically the soundest of the trio, I enjoy root when he's on song (only next to New Goddy, aka Smith). Legacy wise, NZ has not had as many "great" players as Eng and Oz, so Willy's legacy will be more prominent. However, of the trio, I rate root the highest in terms of his peak potential, whereas willy is the most consistent and dependable
