Those in the middle get an advantage. Number 4 and 5 will always be number 4 or 5. That means they will always get to pick after 6-7 turns. Those at extremes get to pick after either 14 or 0 turns. That's what I feel.

How am I 1st though, shouldn't it be you.

In the 11th round, you will have the biggest advantage as you will be the first to make the pick.

Not complaining, just putting my viewpoint.

I will call first four rounds ATG rounds where we will be looking to have as many of our favourite/GOAT players. It's a massive disadvantage to see so many ATGs go for 14 turns. For example, the players I was targeting were Ian Botham, Gilchrist, and Muralidharan, and obviously, Steven Smith. After choosing Steven Smith, I saw all the other three go. No.8 got to choose 2 players from 1st nine, no.7 got two of first 10, I got 2 from first sixteen. Since there are very few cricketers that we can call GOAT, it makes a difference. Obviously, I got 3 out of 17 as well, so all good. It may not matter in the end as all of them are outright match winners, can't compare them.

Only after six rounds, the teams will start shaping, all GOATs will be chosen, and we will have to use our brain cells to make our team composition with second-tier greats. I will spoil others' plans in 9th, 11th rounds, and Zen in 8th and 10th rounds.

Never thought it would be that complicated, and brain exhausting.

Yes but after 14 turns, you get to pick 2 names. Those with 6-7 turns get to pick only one and then wait again for 6-7 turns. It will help you more in the latter part in balancing the team as you get to pick two names consecutively.

It might be complicated for the starters but you will find it quite entertaining too as we move towards the latter part. That is where real fun starts :aha:

@Majestic We can try to open up to those who debuted in 60s as well ... Say we are picking 12 players (it also completes the "snake" cycle) per team, 12 * 8 = 96 cricketers, probably not enough similar quality players as many cricketers play for 10-20 years.

I like the idea of going with 12 players, so you can make one of them as 12th man and it completes the cycle. However, I am not too sure about going even beyond 1970 as a lot of posters over here felt that we should stick to recency(1990 onwards) only.

Also, opening the 1960s when we are already in the 3rd round is a bit questionable. It gives a clear advantage to whoever starts because a certain all rounder ( not Eknath Solkar) is way ahead of rest from the 60s decade.

If more people agree to it, I don't mind going with inclusion of 60s too but will exclude that one obvious pick here.

Sobers made his debut in 50s (1954). It can be started once R3 finishes, i.e. with me from R4.

A team can be given 1 or 2 spots for a player who debuted in the 60s ... But we are only participating in your game, so do what you prefer. One can always pick Angelo Mathews if required!

Personally not a fan of changing the rules midway. But don't think @zen's suggestion would impact this draft game negatively so I won't mind the change. Let's keep in mind that continuing with players from 70s onwards has intricacies of its own too :dontknow:

To make it more challenging we should do 2 players who debuted from each decade

60 70 80 90 00 10

It would mean accounting for 16 (2*8) very good to great players who debuted in each decade
