R!TTER
So looks like we're heading the route of England in football, though tbf they've done great in the last 2 or 3 major tournaments! Is it the weight of expectations, poor tactics, team combination, not reading conditions? What's the biggest or only block between us & another major trophy Link to comment
zen
At this point, I only have hopes on the combination of SDP-Pant being in the best flow to win India a tournament ... Usually, only such fearless cricketers can take on challenges of the world event Link to comment

What's the biggest or only block between us & another major trophy football competition is way, way more. even in euro cup, Eng is competing against Spain, France, germany, italy, and portugal; not all of these teams may be in prime form, but they all have class players who can come good. and in WC, there's the S. American teams and 1-2 decent/good ones from Asia and Africa. Eng in football has been much better than Ind in cricket over past few yrs IMO rollingstoned 1 Link to comment
The Great Punjab
Next World cup is at home. Anything less than the Trophy would be an underachievement and a disappointment. Need to assess and plan players for Indian conditions. Link to comment

The Great Punjab
The state of Indian fans summed up perfectly in this song. Sari Raat Main Takni aa. Can't believe a song from the 74 years ago was penned down for the Indian Cricket Team. Such genius saari raat tera takni aa rah, taryea to puch chan ve kyon mai tere piche hoyi aa tabah laryea to puch chan ve addi-addi raati vich bari te khaloni aa bari te khaloni aa tere piche hanjua de haar main paroni aa haar main paroni aa nale bhardi aa thande thande saah sahariya to puch chan ve Original Credit Chaman (1948) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4QPodZ5X30 Link to comment

sage
Imagine if we choked in a WC final in the cricket equivalent of missing three penalties in a row Would hurt more than our current situation Link to comment
kubrickian
In 2011, India had Sachin, Sehwag, Gambhir, Yuvraj, Dhoni, a young Kohli (who was a good batsman even at that stage) - all match winners. Now India depends entirely on Kohli and Rohit. Dhawan used to be good for a while but now he is also done. If both of them get out cheaply, game is as good as finished. Link to comment
