But Dhoni was anyway captaining. He just officially handed it to him.

The title of captain seemed too much for Jadeja to handle.

Despite being a Limited player, he's had decent success in IPL in the last couple of years. The captaincy title seems to have taken away his nothing to lose attitude of playing, dropping catches.. good that he has relinquished it now

lol I guess everything can seen in 2 ways

could easily have held on it like all captains do past their sell by date.. But quit to focus on own game :nice:

because they have done it over a period of time and got the taste of power. After 8 games gives you the feel they gave up and couldn’t handle the heat :)

Jaddu refused to be the fall guy.. Ha Ha..

Initially MSD played well by Hnading over to Jadeja last moment before IPL started. Jadeja who is not captaincy material anyways figured, why take someone else's fall while not actually being the guy with power.

Dhoni might make decisions without Jadeja’s knowledge but it doesn’t work the other way.

Pathetic move by Jaddu. What s baby, always needs to he kept away from pressure situation. Doesn't like bowling in powerplay, needs another batsman to go bang bang while he tuk tuks till a bakra bowler comes in to bowl, can't handle batting higher, etc.

absolutely. I am surprised people are thinking this is some brave and selfless move.

Had he stepped down after the tournament is completed,  saying that he didn’t enjoy captaincy then at least it would make sense. The fact that he gave up mid way when his team’s chances are almost impossible means he can’t take the heat.
