I don't think Pant will return. we need to potentially move on from him. he has ballooned massively, and both his fitness and motivation could have taken an irreversible hit. I agree about Pant, I think too many on here think its a Bollywood movie where the hero always wins. Pant has endured horrific injuries to such an extent he cannot even keep, this being now over 12 months since his injuries. His ability to recover from such injuries is going to be an achievement, let alone batting at 1st class level, then playing at international level. nevada and Vijy 1 1 Link to comment

But one or both of them will be around. as for back-up batters, we should look at Sai Sudharsan, maybe Devdutt Padikkal (big ? though), pradosh paul (?), rinku singh (?). need more top order players as you said.
