Oh really how did you come to that conclusion.

Checkout Rinku's FC and T20I (intl T20) stats. He has showed up everywhere, including T20 intls consistently. Rinku has played 15 T20Imatches, yes 15 not 1or 2 or 3. 15 is a pretty decent sample size. And he averages 89 at a SR of 176. That in itself shows his pedigree. And some of his knocks came when India had lost early wkts and he had to rebuild. And in the others he scored quick runs at the death. Quite a versatile player.

And along with his T20I average of 89, his FC average is 55, and List A average of 49. So his IPL performances are not a flash in the pan. He has performed at every level. Compare his stats to any other player and you'll see the difference. And you need to see him bat to get the real answer. Some players ooze calmness and give you confidence. Rinku is one of those rare ones. He has shown performance at every level, and has track record across domestic (not just IPL) to back it up. If such a player is not backed, who should be selected for the team? Kohli and Rohit had much worse stats & track records than Rinku and they were backed. Despite not winning anything for more than a decade, it's time likes of Rinku get their chance as enough with TTFs.

I don't need to check anything out. SKY on paper is far better than Rinku Singh.

No it is moronic to replace a one dimensional player like Rinku singh to guys who have shown they can do well in international cricket.

Stop making Rinku Singh into Bradman.

Just because SKY chews gums, has tattoos and has a nonchalant attitude does not mean he is not afraid of failure.

Have you seen SKY's IPL career and his t20 international career.Rinku singh is not even close to him.

Better than the TTFs who haven't won anything in decade and fail everytime in knockouts. Time to try out players who actually show who can handle pressure.

People should stop calling SKY Mr.360 that is a huge embarassment to ABDV who averages 50 in test cricket.

No one calls Rinku 'Bradman'. He has no popular Nick name.

No SKY is Mr. 360 , it is just that 360 is not working in pressure games .

Hope he does well in coming games.Nothing wrong in selecting him either.

Between Rinku Singh and SKY, I would select SKY everyday and twice on sunday even after his failures.

Of course you would! After all you think Kohli has achieved everything and has "nothing to prove" despite not even a single match-winning knock in ICC knockouts for a decade

This is like consistently doing the same mistake and expecting a different result.

This is not a either or situation. Sky can keep playing T20 but moron should be kept away from ODIs

We are talking about T20s here, SKY is not going play another odi that ship has sailed.Aussies gambled on Head and India gambled on SKY , India lost the gamble in odis.

Which idiot said that? Have they seen ABD in Test and ODI against difficult attacks in testing conditions? SKY is a pretty decent T20 player but absolutely clueless in Test and ODIs (even his domestic records are avg) who had a great run for a year in T20I but cracks like glass under pressure. Unfortunately his limitations outweigh his strengths given that he will come wanting in testing conditions everytime as evident in last several outings. We need to move forward.

And DUBE is not the answer. He is 1 trick pony and 5 times limited than SKY.

Good for a Indian team then. He can keep playing T20s. T20 is hit or miss. He has 2 more yrs in T20 unless he is completely zoned out.

Hoping he does something under pressure for a change.

SKY had a terrible IPL. Shouldn’t have made it to the Indian WC side this time around.

Our captain, Jadeja, Siraj and numerous others didn't deserve to be in the squad either

SKY will play the whole world T20. They ain't dropping him. So they should try to get the best out of him. I am not sure if they are telling him to "see off a few balls". That is when he becomes average. They have keep his entry point fluid. If necessary try to hold him off as long as possible like DK.  He is unsuitable for seeing off a few overs and attacking. He will continue failing. He is 33. His reflexes won't be as good as it was 2 years back.

He should then realise he is in the last chance saloon. Has this tournament to make a mark because Ind needs to go into serious rebuild once it ends.

Don't drop him, but we need one more batsman in there in the lower-middle order. Axar, Dube, Jadeja are too undependable, and in case of Jadeja he simply doesn't have the ability. Someone like Rinku batting at 5 or 6 would be godsent for us.

yea.. I won't say SKY is a total hack. He has some ability and skill. So India has to get the best out of him by slotting him in correct spot. Probably push him down the order like Dre Russ Sandwiched between two decent batsmen. If he comes off he can totally blindside the opposition. Hopefully he contributes something soemwhere in this tournament preferably against Aussies.

There was a Kannada saying I heard growing up (and I paraphrase): Devaru varaa koTru Pujaari illa andhangaithu.

(even if God gave the blessing, it happened that the priest said no).
