Pitch is slow.  There is turn on offer. Slow turn. But the explosion on the surface can trouble batsman. Suddenly one can just kick off.  Bowling short will not help one bit.

They are able to play from the backfoot. But few balls that were tossed up beat them. one found an edge. Theekshana has bowled just one over so far. This is one of those surface you need a lot of patience and concentration. You can't hit your way to reach the target. 2 or 3 wickets can fall in one over.

Jayasuriya has to increase the speed. He is bowling at 85. Batsmen are comfortable.

Once the ball gets old it's going to be easy pickings as we saw yesterday. You have to pick atleast 2-3 wickets in the first 20 overs or so to somewhat restrict the opposition. 

 

Now I'd say it's 50-50. But if Pak gets to a position like 150/2, it's game over for Sri Lanka.

The instances of 300+ targets being chased in the 4th inning of a test is increasing exponentially.  Not many would hv thought about it a year ago.   What is more surprising is that these chases are being achieved with ridiculous ease.

Impeccable timing. A second earlier, second later he would have survived. Even if you practice it 100 tiems you may get it wrong 99 times.

Chachu Azhar really makes Gujara look like Livingstone...  Gujara might have 15-20% better reflexes than 40 year old chachu. 

Dhawan is also entering same league.

Karunaratne is missing a trick by not bowling Dhananjay here...  He is probably better than any Pakistani spinner on show.

Yeah. Pants so called great innings isn't looking so great anymore as time passes i guess. But until someone does it away from home it's still questionable.

What a cheap wicket by dickwella & dharmasena. These guys have been cheating for far too long. Need Neutral umpires back and rules must be changed too.

Dharmasena has actually fukked up sri Lanka this game by giving all marginal calls in favor of Pakistan. 

 

Anyways it was Rod tucker who made the stumping decision.

Easy win coming up now that Babar is set too. Karunaratne is neither attacking nor saving the easy runs just like we did against England.

Innings is still great..it was a proper 5th day pitch difficult to bat on. Not the pattas we got in England

SL is panicking way too early..   All they need is Babar's wicket & rest will fall. 

Also Lankan spinners are bowling too slow...  There isn't lot of fast turn but rather slow.
