straighttalk Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 Players should be selected based on that philosophy and not trying to fit in players or force a philosophy on players. 1. If aggressive cricket is the philosophy back players like Samson Tripathi etc. 2. If aggressive cricket is philosophy have bowling ar upto 9 3. If variety is philosophy back lefties like ishan pant etc. Change the top order 4. Have variety in bowling...not all trundlers who cannot field or bat and are not substantially better than others. Focus on players who can score 10 ball 25 and occasional 50s rather than players who score 40 balls 50. Once that philosophy is clear...you can select the players. India is doing the opposite. Selecting players first and then defining a philosophy. Norman, Banton, sensible-indian and 4 others 3 1 4
sensible-indian Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 The team management is not only confused but also DUMB. These selection blunders are crazy. raki05 and Mosher 2
straighttalk Posted September 7, 2022 Author Posted September 7, 2022 I do not understand how you can play aggressive cricket when the batting ends at 7... If that's how you want to play..then do the consolidation until 15 overs and hit out like old. Same who is going to be a wicket taking bowler if entire game plan revolves around slower balls and wide lengths with occasional yorkers raki05, Vk1, Vijy and 1 other 1 1 2
Number Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 Sanju Samson He has an avg of 20 in T20Is despite playing against very inferior quality attacks. This is just the case of a player looking better just because he didn't play.
Adamant Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 What was the philosophy of Australian team when they won the last world cup? All these intent and philosophy talks are useless, just play according to the situation and win the match for us. The problem with us that we overhype our players after they play one knock. Pandya was hyped to the moon after he made 33 in a low pressure match vs Pak. On the other hand, no one in Pakistan or world rates Mohd Nawaz even after his blitz vs India, our players simply don't deserve the hype they get Surya is also explaining pretty well to us what's the difference between IPL and international cricket. The less said about Pant the better. When our top order was in form they were miles above their counterparts, but this middle order even at the peak of their power can't compete with the likes of Asif, Shadab, Nawaz, lol.
Prabhdeep Singh Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 (edited) * Play 6 bowlers including H Pandya * Play 2 Spinners & 4 Seamers combination * Play left handed batsman only if they are good * Axar should play instead of Jadeja if injured * Batsman who can hit sixes upto number 9 For Aus T20 World Cup Rohit KL Kohli SKY H Pandya DK D Chahar Axar Ashwin Shami Bumrah Pant B Kumar Arshdeep Y Chahal Other cricketers in contention: R Bishnoi H Patel Following should be looked at going forward, Kohli and Rohit should retire from International T20 post world cup, DK will not be picked post world cup: S Gill P Shaw S Samson Edited September 8, 2022 by Prabhdeep Singh deepdynamo 1
