For a change its good to see "seniors" taking a break and giving others an opportunity at top, in the past they would not even sit out of games against Zim. I dont know what some of you are complaining about

Both took a day off to spend time with family. Virat with his wife, daughter. KL to supervise his wedding preparations

Exactly, pre-Dussehra leave for Kohli and KL.

At least post something practical. KL is VC and will open on 23rd against Pak barring a niggle. So cope with it. Kohli will play too. Top7 in 11 against Pak is set for now

Who cares KL rahul is VC.He is a sitting duck against Afridi. He can play second match. Kohli on other hand has to be in the playing 11.Don't compare Rahul with Kohli.

No way KL will be dropped against Pak is the point. They would not experiment on a must-win match

I hope you are wrong and Rahul does not play against Pak. It is like playing 10 vs 11 with him in the lineup.

If so, why does the TM refers to this as "rest", which would imply that they are with the squad but not playing (rested from series would imply the players are not with the squad).

To avoid backlash

As some of us were worried, it was proven today that there is no quality in our batting line up, with or without KL and VK. For a board that is well off, we seem to send an undercooked group of players to every ICC tournaments. Only positive out of this is that there isn’t much expectation of this bunch so at an inevitable exit, it wouldn’t hurt much :)
