who comes up with these decisions? KL and Kohli have barely started batting reasonably to justify their place in the squad, let alone playing XI.

 

SKY should have been rested to test out true batting "might" of our T20 stalwarts.

Why? They're anyways not playing in the ODI series so why let go off valuable match practice just when you are starting to look good?

The guys on the bench or even in the middle order do not get to bat in every game like the top 3-4. Therefore, a good idea to give these guys an opportunity to spend some time in the middle.
 

Top 3 will bat in every game, stats pad, and likely fail when it matters to leave those without too many games with a lot to do!

At least post something practical. KL is VC and will open on 23rd against Pak barring a niggle. So cope with it. Kohli will play too. Top7 in 11 against Pak is set for now

If so, why does the TM refers to this as "rest", which would imply that they are with the squad but not playing (rested from series would imply the players are not with the squad).
