Captain Rohit is to blame for the pace bowling woes

Thread based on assumption. Not truth. If a guy has won Asia Cup, Nidihaas, Champions league and 5 IPLs would know a thing or 2 about team combo.

@SecondSlip I have criticized Rohit many times here for not making a 200 in every odi game and not bowling his killer offspinners :)

is now level of champions trophy, WC and other ICC events?

You are absolutely delusional and have to get your head checked unless you are trolling.

Rohit's captaincy has been nothing but minnow bashing a la Dhawan.

His batting too, not a single performance in knockout events where it truly mattered.

Every other high level teams the top 3 are absolute killers with match winning performances in key clutch tournaments because right now it's easiest to bat in powerplay overs compared to middle overs due to how cricket has evolved.

But if you see Rohit, not a single consequential performance in semis, knockouts or finals.

He sucks at fielding too which doesn't help either.

His 200 SCORES are the biggest joke in batsman friendly conditions where even a Sanju Samson, SKY, Pant, KL could do if they were given no pressure situations to bat freely.

Check WC performances that were match winning all made by top 3 like Gilchrist, Pontiac, Sangakarra, Warner, Smith etc.

Not a single one from Rohit. At least Kohli played some match winning innings in clutch WC events and carried the side on his back from 2013-2017 under Dhoni.

Nothing from Rohit in worldcup or ICC knockouts.

If he fails in this WT20 in AUS too, at 36 he will have a legacy of the worst bilateral bully in existence.

Same applies on the flip side too, if Rohit won Asia cup in 2018, it’s a useless tournament, if he gets knocked out then Asia cup is as big as wc. Do you see a disconnect there?

Also Rohit played a clutch knock in WT20 2007 finals and virtual ko vs SA in the same tourney, won man of the match in WC 2015 Qf’s and was also mvp opening in CT 2013.

You are the one being irrational here.

As a captain is more decorated than your idol Kohli who by the way I have defended here many times as a batsman. Not even a contest when it comes to those credentials.

Give me some alternatives. I am sure that would be comic gold. I am waiting :pop2:

avesh was ur hit the deck bowler and he didnt perform

What other options we had for that role ?? Prasidh, kuldeep , bumrah , siraj , mohsin

Prasidh- failed at same job in middle overs in ODI and IPL both and now injured .

Kuldeep- has done nothing to warrant a selection , its a pure gamble pick

Bumrah- got injured

Siraj- his own poor ipl got him out of contention

Mohsin - injured

Avesh - he performed in IPL for 3 seasons

Cant blame that they gave full chance to avesh, we use to criticise kohli for not backing player now we are criticising rohit for backing a player. Kahin to tikko

When the one who earned fails everyone thinks that the one who didnt even deserve to be selected in 1st place is better now

Nah if they backed him, he should be straight choice atleast now. How and why Shami/Siraj have even emerged as options.

Now why are they saying they need someone with experience in Aus.

Coz he has failed so misably that its impossible to back him

The role which he was selected for he hasnt done that at all and now he is short on confidence too

Lack of viable option has made us look back to shami/siraj and whatever options u have basically they have all have so many negatives that those 2 dont seem to be that bad option compare to avl anymore.

Its come to a stage where every option is basically a gamble so safe option is kind of someone who atleast has experience of those conditions so he knows what length alternation he needs to do

Shami/Siraj have also failed. He was backed for some reason and that should stay. Form can change. Or we could have tried someone else after his first 6-7 failures.

One pacer injury especially Bumrah isn't that unexpected. If Shami/Siraj were in scheme of things, they should have played atleast 5 games.Same experience in Aus bowler could have been tried before.

If its a gamble, you take it with a guy you backed.
