Why on earth Ashwin playing in IX?

Apart from Santner/Dhananjaya (who is a batsman who bowls a few overs here and there) every finger spinner sucked balls.  Playing finger spinner is totally useless. Ashwin is there only because Chahal is a one-dimensional player. He can't contribute with bat or fielding. Atleast Bishnoi can field and bat a bit.

Since Chahal cant bat we hv to play Ashwin..Jadeja’s injury has affected batting balance badly..

Axar is looking as good as tailenderbin this WC..

its such a shame we have number 7 as Axar or Ashwin..after unreliable DK at 6.

Glad to see he failed miserably in another wc. 2015/16/17/21 and now 22.

 

2 overs for 27 runs getting smacked all around by alex hales of all people who wasn't in contention for the english team just 3 months ago. Captain didn't have any confidence in him to give the 3rd over perhaps and this begs the question why was he selected???.

First of all carrying finger spinners to Australia is criminal. This is wrist spinner land. T20 itself is wrist spinners game.  Especially carrying a 36 year old youtuber lol  Honestly this match was lost when we put up a below par 168

Embarrassing stuff. When will you learn to always back a wicket taking spinner over a defensive economical bowler? Come the big game, one guy attacks and the economical bowler gets a reality check

Think the OP got it spot on. Axar and Rohit contributed nothing in this tournament, 8 if we include KL.

 

It's hard to beat a team like England playing with 8 players.

don't recall ash doing much either vs eng. so many passengers.
