Gill [not happy with his tendency to tuk-tuk though] 2. Pant/SKY 3. Brat for now [if out of form, replace with someone else like Iyer] 4. Shreyas/KL 5. Sundar 6. SKY/Samson 7. Pandu 8. Axar/Jaddu/Shahbaz 9. Boomrah 10. Prasidh 11. siraj/kuldeep sen/kuldeep yadav this lineup checks many of the boxes that I deem necessary: a. 1 consolidator + 1 out-and-out aggressive batter in the opening b. no. 3 is a consolidator, but can be moved down the order if quick runs are needed c. middle order of nos. 4-7 can play spin well (in general), can adjust tempo as per situation d. batting till 8, with even no. 9 not a complete mug with the bat e. 3 genuine quicks in boom, prasidh and siraj/sen f. 6 genuine bowling options + part-timer in Iyer @express bowling @SRT100 thoughts? 50 overs is just too long a format. Definitely agree we need 6 bowling options no matter what. Using yours as a template I would go with 1. Gill 2. SKY 3. Kohli 4. Shreyas 5. Pant 6. Sundar 7. Pandya 8. Jaddu 9. Bumrah 10. Prasidh 11. Siraj We bat till 8 and thats the best we will ever be able to achieve with the current players. The order is debatable but SKY and Kohli need to bat the max amount of balls possible, so they need to be either 1,2,3. With Iyer and Pant at 4,5 they can go hard for the spinners too. vvvslaxman
INdia needs game breakers should i say players with X factors. They have to give SKY a run before binning him. He can be your game breaker. When guys like Harry Brooks can elevate his game to play tests why not SKY. He just has to put his mind to it. Your team need X factor players not predictable players. vvvslaxman
India needs a leg spinner for sure. Some gora teams have this weakness against leg spin. During the brief period when India dominated LOI was when Kulcha were bowling middle overs. Now we are going back to finger spinners to accommodate all rounders. Finger spinners especially off spinners are becoming extinct. Scientist touched on this subject 4 years back when he lost his place https://www.indiatoday.in/sports/cricket/story/future-of-finger-spinners-in-white-ball-cricket-lies-in-perception-of-people-r-ashwin-1190207-2018-03-15 AuxiliA 1 Link to comment

Agree. And as opener too, none of this bullshit of him batting anywhere else to accommodate Dhawan but opener. express bowling 1 Link to comment
