Why Pant has been released from ODI squad against Bangladesh?

I feel they are protecting him and saving him for SL series. Because, if he fails here, it would have been curtains.

He has played the highest no of days of international cricket for India this year and the second highest in the world after Rizwan. Add to that some matches where he was in the squad and not in the playing XI. It's good for him to get a break finally..he is indispensable in Tests and we have 6 crucial tests coming up

it's good for him to get a break. unlike rizwan who doesn't deserve any

Yeah not necessary to have him in the team every game.. give break..call it being dropped or rested whatever...others will play vs top teams and not perform and then fresh and fitter( to his lowly standards) Pant can be back.

He shouldn't have been included in the first place. This whole thing of including him then sending him back mid series is comical. Not surprising, however, given how things have been running in Indian cricket recently.
