Who will be ideal Test captain after Rohit?

Hardik Pandya has been made VC in ODIs. So he can take over from Rohit but Shreyas Iyer too has backing from some ex-cricketers and he is a consistent performer and less likely to be injured.

 

I know we are stuck with Rohit in WC2023 but if he is not fit and available then who will lead in WC2023.

 

Giving captaincy to the right person will be crucial since we are due a complete overhaul in LOI.

 

My choice:

ODI : Iyer; VC  Hardik 

T20 : Hardik; VC Surya / Samson 

Test : Rishabh Pant VC Jadeja/bumrah

ODI's -> Shubman Gill or Shreyas Iyer
T20's -> Hardik Pandya
Tests -> Bumrah (for now), later Pant when he becomes fit.

Split Cpataincy is the way forward, players should be restricted to only 2 formats at max.

 If a player is good enough to be part of all the three teams and he is one of the best in team in all formats then he should be captain.There should be no restriction on player becoming captain in all formats.

 

Pant should have become VC in tests instead of that Rahul.He should have captained the side in Bangladesh and SA already. Which idiot made Rahul captain is beyond me.

 

There is lot to like about Iyer, he is fiesty and aggressive.I would make him VC in odis and tests.Since Pandya is already made captain in t20 he needs to be given a chance to showcase his skills.Rohit has to be captain for next 50 over world cup and let Iyer be his understudy.
