When Ganguly came  he felt 2 folks were good to him. Make Dravid as coach and give NCA to Laxman.

 The credit for the 2007 T20 WC should go Chappell entirely . Seniors simply ganged up on him when he showed the door to non performing Gangu bai . He simply suggested him to leave the captaincy & focus on his own batting . Gangu throwed temper tantrums to this advice . Chappell did not want 5-7 seniors who were poor fielders and living on reputation .

Fielding transformed radically under him with all the young players . In T20 WC ,  Gambhir , Uthappa , Irfan , Sreesanth , RP Singh played a major role all of whom were backed by Chappell . MSD , Yuvi and Raina improved rapidly under Chappell .

Do not think its just spin, overall Ind batting is way behind in every format now. Ind batters do not play sweep, reverse sweeps they do-not dominate any kind of bowling.

 

There is no forward thinking in this group. Do not think there is any innovation at Domestic levels as well, not many batters in Domestic are playing modern day game.

 Dravid has not done any thing new with U19s, Ind has been dominant in age groups for years. They have won U19 Wc before and after Dravid.

 

There are various reason on why Ind is dominant at age groups but there was nothing new on Ind winning the cup that time.

Infact Dravid baba made so much of changing and chopping that we lost against wi in one of the u19 wc final against wi u19.

Looking at some of our oldies they took coaching from Dhoni
