What has the " WALL" as coach done to improve our lousy batting against spin ?

He was a spineless captain. Watched from the sidelines as Greg Chappell destroyed our side and we got humiliated in the 2007 WC with Dravid as captain.

 

Our cupboards that are devoid of any ICC trophy will continue to remain barren while this loser is coach.

 

He neither has the personality of a leader, nor the ability to bring about positive change nor the spine to take tough decisions for the future, nor the cunning to outfox the opposition.

 

When Ganguly came  he felt 2 folks were good to him. Make Dravid as coach and give NCA to Laxman. 

 

No proper selection process with merit based process oriented selection.

 

We often blame geriatric babus for ruining BCCI, but what good was Ganguly  ? 

 

Cricket administration in India is such a pathetic  joke, it is beyond shameful.

Bandwagoners can't stop mocking Chappell for firing a nonperforming Ganguly. LOL! Chappell was a legend and should've been our best coach if we had patience and didn't act like emotional fools.

Chappell wanted Tendulkar out way before 2011 world cup.  He is such a great legend that Australia did not give him any significant  coaching responsibility .

I disagree with this statement. Work he did with u19 and result is what propelled him to senior team. Infact he initially wasnt even keen.

Can we stop this he wasn't interested thing. That becomes the moment irrelevant when he becomes coach.

Coaching the calibre of u19 and senior team is a totally different ball game. 

 

Have you seen any other successful precedent in cricket  of an age group coach landing a national coach job ?

 

What other candidates were considered ?

Even a legend like Pietersen took Dravid's help to play spin effectively ( now it may be an exaggeration ) ..

 

But subtle changes in approach / mindset / tactics -- given the opposition bowlers/ pitch --- is part of the coaches job.

 

No one is suggesting they should be taught basics of how to tackle spin bowling in home conditions.

You want to be critical of him today given what we have seen, sure go ahead but to question reasons why he was appointed is unfair. Not one person questioned his appointment.

So he made a mistake in judging Tendulkar. Anyone can do it. These things hardly matter, the kind of players he trusts is upto a coach. Chappell was the one to start the fast bowling culture that the guys in other thread cannot stop talking about.

The anger is against how unprofessionally BCCI is run. 

 

Where things are done with following due merit driven processes.  How many other candidates were interviewed for the job Dravid got because of Ganguly ? 

 

People just assumed because he " groomed " young batting talent, he will make a good head coach of the national team.

 

Thats not how things work. International cricket at the highest level and under 19 cricket is chalk and cheese. Only in India we make such decisions.

He had an abrasive personality that made everyone insecure. Nobody disputes that. 

 

That is not a worthy trait for a coaching job. if he was any good Australia would have lapped him up. They kept him miles away from any significant coaching responsibility because of his personality.
