Indian Cricket is very very unprofessional when you consider its a multi billion dollar industry.

 

Look at how injuries are managed and treated in Gridiron, NBA, EPL even AFL and Rugby in Australia.

 

Its actually comical the way the Indian professionals delude themselves in believing they are the best in the world. Sportsmen in the sports I mentioned above, injuries are treated like an exact science. They know exactly how long it will take and will not rush any process.

 

In India its like a comedy, saying this player is ready and able to play then the post pone, same thing happens again and again Its a joke.

Its why I know Pant is finished and also Bumrah too.

The best Indian professionals, in the field of injury management, are not employed by the sports administrators. Not even those who are 2nd rung. 

 

That's the biggest issue.

 

Recently an 89 year old relative of mine had spinal injury and she could not move a toe even. We got her treated by a Doctor who was highly recommended in this field and after 6 months or so, she was almost normal.

I don't think Doctors say it. Such statements come from people who just want to mint money using the brand of the scapegoat cricketer.

I don't know sufficiently about the prognosis of Pant's injury. So, I won't comment. 

 

I expect Bumrah to be back strongly provided he is allowed the full recovery time as warranted by medical science.

They have literally billions so investing in their product, ie the players should make sound financial sense.

 

All the best professionals should be bankrolled by the BCCI, thats how you get an advantage over other countries, having the best professionals in the business.

 

There was a time Im sure I remember seeing India having coaches and physios etc employed from outside India, I know this as they were white. Im not saying white is better by the way, Im just saying get the best there is, black, brown, yellow or white.

Even a coach as Dravid, there is no way he is the best in the world. I dont know who is, but Dravid isnt the answer. We need someone who can "challenge" the captain and provide for him a source of support and also criticize.

I have had the opportunity to work with and analyze different types of organizations in India. 

 

What I have found is that the best are private sector companies which are listed at stock exchanges. There are some poor ones here too but by and large accountability and professionalism are high. Especially the ones which want to compete in the global arena. 

 

Public Sector Listed companies are improving a lot. Especially those who don't enjoy monopoly type situations.

 

Organizations which are neither listed nor are profit making organizations  ( in theory ) have very little accountability and fluctuating professionalism based on who is in charge at the moment. 

 

Thing is .... BCCI does not owe much to the general public in theory. ( Except the fact that they are using the name " India " for their team )   Even if it chooses a cricket team of 60 year old hockey players and employs plumbers as physical trainers, what can one do !

 

As long as we, the gullible public, keep watching whatever is served to us,  irrespectove of quality, nothing is going to change.

Reading some of the comments here about BCCI is making me laugh. BCCI is many things but is not against well being of players.

 

Players are earning so much money that they don't even have to depend on BCCI for treatments. They all can have their own independent doctors and teams to monitor their health and injuries.

I don’t think BCCI is against the players intentionally.

They r just dumb and incompetent at what they do.. which in this case is understanding player recovery times, bowler workloads, being decisive when the injury requires a surgical intervention. And if you’re dumb with fast bowlers, u end up costing them their career.
