We definitely take home wins for granted, and do not place nearly enough importance on them. Though I get that SENA wins mean more.

Jadeja and Ashwin will retire and we will then realise how lucky we are to have them now a days bowling and batting us to home wins. Axar and Sundar are not in that class (yet)

This series winning streak is amazing, long may it continue.

India is extremely fortunate to have them at same time and their baton passers almost identified.

not too sure about this one to Ashwin

It should have been Jaddu only and if they wanted to share, should have been with Axar.

Thing is Jaddu's performance dipped in the final 2 matches, with bat and ball. And Ashwin scored some clutch runs in first two tests, not a big difference in batting. Hence the sharing.

Khawaja too deserves a mention. Axar could have been given but they played safe.

This. Next BGT we may field Axar, Kuldeep, Sundar. As a package they will be almost if not as good as Ashwin-Jadeja. One area where we have our bases covered. If only we could do something to replace the ageing Shami-Umesh duo for home games, Siraj is there, we need another fast, skiddy, reverse swing merchant...not Unadkat.

They failed as batsmen. Ashwin took more wickets. Six wickets on tougher pitch. So understandable. Jadeja, don't think he had any chance.

Axar had no chance. His runs only extended the margin of victory. We were going to win even without him.

Off spin will probably die with Ashwin/Lyon. Left arm spinners have taken over. Sundar fo all his LOI ability is still not a man with bag of tricks. Sustaining your skill for longer period is an art. Bowlers get figured out. THen they have to reinvent themselves. Not everyone does it. Shakib Al Hasan has been playing for 16 years. Many have seen him in various formats. He can still surprise you as a bowler as he has developed subtle variations over a period.

Jaddu was our best bowler even in 3rd Test 1st innings.Took 4 including Khawaja,Labu and Smith to give us a sniff.Ash definitely deserved MOTM in final Test but overall

Both played 1 good innings with bat.

Khawaja failed in 1st Test. Axar was consistent throughout but they always play safe.

Axar saved us atleast twice.

Ashwin deserved MOTM for last Test but other than that was underwhelming

Anyway does anyone have their post match interview?

Our bowling is in good hands. Batting needs urgent attention and an overhaul.

Replacing Ashwin, Jadeja, would be very hard. Shami and Umesh are getting old. Both of them were laboring .Umesh has flat out put on too much weight.

Sundar,Axar and Kuldeep are there to replace Ash and Jaddu

Siraj,Bumrah,Prasidh can go on for few years. Prasidh will be good once fit.

Bowling with Ashwin/Jadeja is one thing. Bowling without them and taking the responsibility on their shoulders is another thing. Sometimes having someone like Ash at other end helps immensely. Kuldeep can produce results on his own provided he reacts better when batsmen go after him.

That'll come with experience. Sundar bowled well in Gabba for instance.

I don't think Sundar is ever going to be competent bowler in test cricket. I hope I am wrong.Guy like him has to play FC cricket and get used to bowling 30 overs day and bat for long periods. He is not even WIP, it will take lot of time before he becomes serviceable player.

Axar and Kuldeep  are okay but they are not Ashwin and jadeja.

I don't think Siraj has got lot left in the tank, he is getting slower by the day, he has already lost that zip.It is pity if he had another 10k speed he would have beeen a dynamite bowler

Bumrah and Prassid have to be fit first.
