Dhongi came for Glory shots, got reality check.. idiot hides behind Bowlers in chasing while came up when there was no need....

Dhoni is past his prime and playing more as a specialist keeper and captain (and also because CSK wants him to). One of his goals would be to develop CSK to play without him, therefore, he would look to slot batsmen and all-rounders above him (unless in some specific situation). At best, he would want to play a few balls if required and to keep him in some form.

It reminds me of Dave Houghton, who was Zim's coach and also would play a game here and there. He would do well and when the presenters would ask him to bat higher. To that he would reply that his main job is to coach and develop the team. If he bats high, that would take the opportunity away to develop a young player.

In case you don't know who Dave Houghton is:

CSK can play without him, they aren't team filled with toddlers... Same was said about Indian team before going into 2019 wc. 2015-19 period was all about accomodating Dhongi in line up with one or another logic less reasons,  that advice and guidance and batting order bullshyte. We are doing just fine without him. Thanks for enlightening me about David Houghton but there is really no comparison between him and the fraud we are talking about...

All the respect in the world for Dhoni to get the best out of mediocre talent. However  set the bad precedent. We used to give chances to fresh junior players and throw them to the wolves be it SRT, Kumble to Yuvraj etc all the way till Jadeja,Rohit, Kohli, Ishant.

Now there is a trend to bring in middle of the road mediocre players because they are “hardworking”. Dhoni has a lot to do with this change in culture.

CSK (or any IPL Team) is not Team India (people should avoid confusing the two). Even the roles that players play can be different from what they play in their national sides..

It is not CSK can play without him BUT CSK (as I mentioned in my previous post) wants him to play as he is the strongest connection with its fans. Millions of fans follow CSK to watch Dhoni. There are viewership stats that go up magically when he comes to bat.

To re-emphasize, IPL has nothing to do with Team India. Those attacking players because they play for or played for Team India are wasting their time, and probably even following IPL for the wrong reasons.

LMAO nobody is attacking players. We are entitled to our opinions, I don't agree with yours and you don't with mine that's fine. That player played once for India, captained India for longest period and ruined it for longest period, so I will have my reasons to post about it comparing it with CSK because his record as CSK captain was mentioned everywhere whenever we were playing internationals too. Player like him would have been chucked out and showed the door after 3 wt20 loss, it just that CSK's performance had kept him relevant in Indian T20 setup so I have my reasons to compare his performances, his antics with Indian team as long as he keeps playing for CSK. I don't possess that intellectual level of yours to differentiate what roles different players play for different teams, I post what I feel....

Players will always be considered for one team or the other based on their performances elsewhere. IPL too considers players based on performances in internationals, domestics, overseas domestics (BBL for e.g.), and so on. Similarly, other teams may consider players based on IPL performances. Apart from IPL, players are considered based on Ranji and Duleep Trophy (tests), VH, SMAT, county (tests), etc. There used to be that India A v India B v India C too.

India has only won World Cups on selected occasions, therefore, winning a world cup is more of an achievement. If players are to be criticized for not winning world cups (losses as you mentioned), Tendulkar has lost the 1992, 1996, 1999, 2003, and 2007 World Cups. No Indian player has played as many ODI world cups as Tendulkar.

As for Dhoni, he played the last T20 WC in 2016, where he was still among the best WK batsmen. I still recall how excited people were after the BD player was run out on the last ball!
