zen Posted April 27, 2023 Share Posted April 27, 2023 It appears as if RR has made a few tactical errors (assuming this is a good batting surface): * batted first with 3 spinners playing (dew if it comes will make it tough for spinners) * the pitch, at the moment, looks good for batting (though need to see what happens once the ball gets soft), which will work for CSK. It appears as if RR did not want a previous Chennai like track (how we Chennai track looks good for batting at the moment but it could change when the pitches get tired as the tournament progresses) * Bowling first on this pitch may allow CSK spinners to get more grip (pace isn’t working for CSK at the moment.
