I am not sure how you can say that.  They rely on Lyon holding up one end and rotate the seamer from other end. Now they have no one to do holding job. They are brutally exposed. SA used Maharaja for 7 overs in the entire India series in 3 tests. They could still work.  This team relies on pitch offering a bit of bounce. Cummins is an exception. But he can't do it all alone.

Lyon while very important is not the reason for Australian being great fast bowling attack.  Aussies are guilty of overworking their fast bowlers. As you said 5th test in such a short span is too much work load.

What would worry me if I am Australian supporter/selector, where are young express fast bowlers in Australia.

Australia was/is all about fast bowling and these three have been playing over a decade with no new talent showing up from their system.

Boland is an anti Australian fast bowler.

Neser is a good fast bowler.  Having 3 good fast bowlers >  5 crappy fast bowlers. At this point Cummins is the only one.  Hazelwood regressed massively. Starc is a better LOI bowler than Test bowler. He is even in the side only because Boland sucked balls. Otherwise Starc is not a regular. Still when you compare with assembly SA fast bowling this is far and  few between. COetzer is an exciting South African pacer to watch.

It only shows how crap our batting was in the WTC final.

Once  your bowling gives up 469 after winning the toss, it is always on bowling.

He is not express by any means. They needed an express fast bowler to rough England up but they don't have in their system which is surprising given their history.

Starc's pace along with Cummins has gone down a lot, they are unable to crank high speeds.

It is not like INdina batting showed up when Indai bundles out opposition cheaply. India cheaply bundled England out in 5th test. India was 98/5 in no time before Pant bailed us out. The same clowns failed in the 2nd innings as well. While we are shifting blame we should never lose sight of the fact our batting failed whether our bowler clicked or not.

Why you keep repeating Pant bailed India out, Pant is an Indian batsman. He is not playing for other team

Him and Jadeja gave Indian bowlers 373 runs to defend  in 4th innings and India bowlers laid a giant egg.

That loss along with world championship loss was not lost due to batting.

Batting failures by top order should not  an excuse for Indian bowlers to stink.

Aussies will come up with some strategy in the next Ashes 100%

You can be certain they won't be resorting to the brainless short ball tactic like they are doing here.

They have to prepare faster pitches to stand a chance against this England batting lineup.

Woakes has no overs bowled in first 12 overs. The great "Jimmy" got the new ball.

In the entire cricketing world.... There is something about Mary Trundlers.

Not liking that this unimaginative Aussie team is likely gonna be saved by the weather. This series deserves 2-2 and a decider at the Oval.

Extremely terrible weather

Aussies don't deserve to escape with a draw. They have been outplayed by England in all aspects.

Entire team selection was for a draw. Very similar to MSD's selection in one of the series. India won a test. THen he loaded the side with abtsmen and it backfired

Cummins and McDonald are brain dead. Heads need to roll. England have the momentum.
