I still recall bumrah's horrible captaincy well. I can only think of a handful of good bowler captains, and most were spinners

You do realize that England are playing at home and these conditions do suite English bowling more than Australian.  at home, they can only challenge Australia, not win and in Australia, they lose badly.

it is not that hard, especially for taller batters like crawley and brook. batting avg in matches played in Aus is higher than eng for a reason

because their batting has been really poor since early 2010s. remember that cook, KP, trott feasted massively on those pitches. Brook = KP, and current root should be equal of trott at least. real issue is a replacement for cook, but I think one of duckett and crawley (both are inconsistent) can score in one of the 2 innings per test
